Why didn’t Adam have more than one wife?

Like Adam saw was Muslim, then why didn’t Allah give him more than one wife?

In islam maximum is 4.

Where were 4 women going to pop up from?

Allah created Adam and then created hawa from adam and then from them came rest of mankind. You need one father and one mother if you want all of mankind to come from them.

And the 4 wives limit came only with the Quran, before that there was no limit. Even prophet solomon had hundreds of wives, maybe up to 800.
