Why didn't you respect your parents?

Why didn't you respect your parents, when they took care of you when you were sick?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they fed you when you were hungry?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they payed for your education?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they loved you a lot?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they always thought of you?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they taught you what's right and what's wrong?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they gave you clothes to wear?
Why didn't you respect your parents, when they gave you toys for entertainment?

And worship Allah and do not ascribe any partner to Him, and be good to parents, and to relatives, and orphans, and the needy, and the related neighbour and the unrelated neighbour, and the close companion and the traveller; and your bondwomen; indeed Allah does not like any boastful, proud person. (Quran 4:36)
 
Rabbir hum huma kamma rabbayani sagheera. My Lord, have mercy on them as they brought me up [when I was] small. {Surah 17, Ayah 24}
