Why were they deleted

Why were my posts deleted save for the thread that I made. ?

That’s just it, I received no such message so I suppose I do have to post here :)
 
If you could provide a link to the thread in question, a moderator will be able to send you the reason by Private Message. :)

I have had a real rush of deletes with no notification.
No problem, I know why, but notification would be nice.

That would be me in the World Affairs section. Nothing personal, things get out of control very easily in there for some reason.

except in my case it was a simple post not in "affair" with anything. There was nothing in the posts themselves to warrant deletion, so again why?
 
The reason why your posts were deleted from the 'Was the Prophet, peace be upon him Romantic' thread was because that section is for media only, and your claim wasn't in any way backed with any proof - as you stated yourself that it was just an opinion. So i deleted them.

Anyway, anything which will lead to arguments is usually closed or deleted before the argument flares up. I think we'll be doing that more often now since people start throwing personal insults at each other and us mods have to look through threads 30 pages long just to clear it out.

Proof? It seems more you've take a personal interest in the matter when you deleted them granted you were the one who deleted them. And the posts in the the Jinn thread? Despite being respectful and staying within the topic of discussion there wasn't any "flaring" or flame baiting. It looked more like a healthy engaging and refreshing debate on the subject. I doubt this is going to go far I wont be surprised if this thread gets closed with "If you have any other problems pm me!".

You have the comparative religion to discuss the beliefs of whether jinn really exist or not. The sister required islamic help, so she didn't need any information by someone who never had the same beliefs as her, and that is why she [the creator of the thread] opposed your views.

We will delete the posts if we feel that it is for a better purpose, since we've seen things seem all 'innocent' at the beginning, and then they lead to personal attacks. So the new plan is to delete the cause of the argument instead of simply allowing it to fall into place.

I think it is a little personal, but you need to do what you need to do and I take no issue.
As I said, "I understand" and find it reasonable that some of them were deleted. Some times I'm just not nice. And thats a nice way of saying I can get nastey.

But, an automatic notify would be great.

This sister needed a muslims point of view in the matter, granted I am muslim just because I don't go shouting it out and declaring peace be upon you doesn't mean "I belong in the comparative religion section".

With all do respect this is why sects tend to form unless someone has the undaunting same discipline and abselout accurate belief as you do it cannot be in any way the same faith this is why there is divide, those with the power shut out those who they they have held as straying from there "straight and narrow" ideology.

Again and with all do respect there is no reason as to why they should have been deleted, it seems more due to circumstance people have become jumpy and trigger happy, there was no reason why those posts where deleted other then for making someone twitch.

From them posts, it never seemed as if they were muslim views. Infact they were opposing what's been mentioned in the Qur'an. There's even a post by the sister herself who said that she didn't believe what you said because jinns are real as is stated in the Qur'an. Ask yourself why she must have said that?

Sects are formed because people stray from the teachings of Allaah, His messenger (peace be upon him) and the understanding of these texts in other to how the companions understood them. Other sects make their own interpretation of these texts, which leads to them going astray.
