How can a 2d or 3d character have character, maybe it reminds Allah of someone in life and Allah shows you this persons character through the image. That's if it a pure Concept like Gummy Bears inshallah. So tell you friend not to worry, that person exists somewhere in life. How else do you explain having an emotional feeling for an animation.
