On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said:"Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: 'Spend (on charity), O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.'" [Bukhari (also by Muslim).]

salam,a person doesn,t need to be rich to spend in the wayof Allah.sahabas never waited for to be rich.they just spent on others according to their means.a rich man,s charity and a poor man,s charity will be same in the eyes of Allah.and it is the intention that counts
