I was muslim years ago but because my husband stopped me from praying he locked everything away but i want to be Muslim again but he will not let me he being controlling and now violent punching doors and scaring me I haven't prayed in a very long time

We have been advised we can disobey our husbands if what they say or do goes against the shariah. Have you actually denounced your religion or are you saying this because of neglecting the prayers? Is your husband a Muslim?

May Allah swt bring you from darkness to light and make it easy for you Ameen.

Can you dare to leave this man for the sake of Allah :swt1: ?

Preventing you from praying is bad enough, but being violent means your safety can be at risk. You are the only one who knows your own situation, but you be careful not to put your safety at risk.

I’m sorry to hear this. May I ask you what he locked everything away? Because it is unambiguous statement to me. And, even if you do not pray but have the Islamic faith “there’s no God but God, and Muhammad is God’s Slave and Prophet” then you’re still Muslim even if you did not prayed.

There is a but here. If you believe that prayers are important and obligatory, but do not perform it, then you’re safe and sound, you’re not in shirk area, you are in area of believers.

But if you do not believe that prayers are important and obligatory, and you stopped to pray due to this fact, then that causes you to be a non Muslim.

Do not let your be underestimated by your husband. Show him the true power of women, show him who’s the boss, and that’s how you’ll have whatever you want from your husband. Once you showed him who’s the boss, then you may practice Islam freely without problems.

Try to show him that you’re fearless woman, and by doing like this he’ll get bored of scaring you.

Hopefully that’s a good advice.

sorry for not replying my husband said he loves me and is going to be Muslim he was born Christian but its the minster who is also a friend is blunt to me and said in the past that am not Muslim am just doing it for attention that am wasting peoples time and spending money for nothing i go to a drop in he runs i need to go there for my mental health and help my husband who is also my carer
my husband binned my hijab but this morning i wore a scarf that covered me but i have no suitable clothes just joggy bottoms long sleeved top and a dress to go over the joggy bottoms
i look a mess i had to go out the house this morning looking a mess i haven't prayed in such a long time i'll end up in hell because i didnt pray i have started praying but its years the minster who i am talking about influence my husband and he tells him what to do
i am scared i cant stop going to the groups because of my mental health will get worse without support ill end up in hospital and i couldn't cope with that

May Allah guide your husband to finally accept Islam and provide all the support you both need to practice Islam.

Ukhti, start offering salah again. If you have not been able to read the Quran or even adhkar, start again. It may be hard after many years of abuse and mental health issues,
but InshaAllah you will not find much difficulty and Allah will grant you shifaa through Islam hence you don't need to go to the groups that the minister runs.
