I have a mortgage as well as other debts but i also have gold so do i need to pay zakat on the gold value?
 
The word Zakat means is {purification} and {growth}. Our property are purified by setting aside a proportion for individuals in need, and, like the pruning of plants, this cutting back balances and encourages new growth.
 
Hmm 1st pay off the debts and if you still are able to pay zakat then you must at least 2.5% of your income
