Inshallah, we're leaving to Umrah, my mom, my brother and I, next week. We were going to Medinah, then, to Mekkah. But yesterday, out of the blue, the travel agency informed us that there were major changes. We would land in Djeddah, go first to Mekkah and Medinah would be our last destination. We were told that Ihraam would be done in the plane. Honestly, I don't get how this could be possible, in practical ways for my mom and I and for my brother. Please, can you explain how Ihraam can be done in a plane?
I don't know how long it takes from your place to reach Jeddah, but you can wear your Ihram clothes from your home itself (only men have to wear the special Ihram clothes) and while in the plane, just before crossing the meeqat you can simply make your intention for 'Umrah and proclaim the Talbiyah. You won't have to do anything extra for entering the ihram state.
Subhanallah, every one is going for Umrah and i just read and listen about their experiences.I was smiling a few minutes before but this post made me cry and jealous,i'm sorry my sister, but i m really jealous as to why others and why not me please remember me in your doaa sis.May Allah swt bless you with a safe journey and accept your Umrah.Ameen.
When my Parents went for Hajj 3 years before,my father wore his Ihram at home and they moved to the air port.My mum had her Burka, and they told us they plane admins announced when the plane reached to Meeqat and we all made niyyah of Umrah as mentioned in above post.
