I read islamic books too but in fiction i only read M A Rahat. He is the best. I got about 100 books by him. Next time im gonna go to pakistan, im gonna filter the whole Lahore finding his books lol im a crazy fan.
My favourite novel is Baghi from M A Rahat. Does anyone read him at all? He is the best. Ive also read Ishq ka ain by aleem haqi and right now im reading ishq ka sheen by him.
Let me correct you, ISHQ KA SHEEN is not writtten by Aleem-ul-Haq Haqi. Its written by Amjad Javeed. Unfortunatly Haqi could not complete this novel by himself. M.A Rahat is good but not very impressive. After reading Ishq ka Sheen, please try ISHQ KA QAAf written by Surfraz Ahmad Rahi. I hope you will like it. You can got its online version on www.kitaabghar.com.
Ishq ka sheen is in two parts. First one by haqi and 2nd one by amjad. Is haqi dead by the way? You dont like M A Rahat? Try reading his Namwar series. Pure class.
i've started reading naseem hijazzi novels and I really like them the one im reading rite now is kafala hijaz which is really gud, havn't finished it am in the middle.

I read Qaaf too. What a brilliant novel. Just excellent but still Ishq Ka Sheen is the best one out there. I think Haqi put all his blood effort in it. A good read for all
OH God! all these years I have loved urdu so much.
This thread just made me realise that the only last thing I read were those detective novels..by someone whose name began with M...(was it mushtaq??). Those novels were smthing similar to hardy boys.
I feel I've lost a thousand years, just living day by day.I'm hidden behind the pain and tears,my sorrow guides the way. By Jamie Pace
Ishq ka sheen is about a boy born in a hindu family. As he grows up he notices his family worshipping the idols. He doesnt get satisfied in it. He searches for the truth. He ponders over Allah's beauty and nature and thinks there is someone that controls everything and He is one. So he moves to delhi for further studies and rents an upper appartment. There he hears a beautiful female voice reciting Quran. At that time he didnt know it was Quran.
The novel is set in 1930 going towards 40s for the pakistan partition. So he learns the whole Quran. Then something happens and he hears her recite Surah Mulk and mountains crash on him and he sees the skies. The truth is revealed on him and this is the best part of the book. He accepts islam then in the second book(written by someone else as the original author got very unwell. Dont know if he died) the author explains the partition of pakistan and this boy migrated to pakistan and there they build a new village.
This novel i think covers every topic of Islam. Let it be relation of mum and daughter, father and son, teacher and student, telling lies, backbiting, parda, and everything. The first novel is around 800 pages and the second is 400. Worth reading. 5 star. Brilliant novel

Ahmed Yaar Khan, ki takreeban tamaam 'Jurm aur suraaghsani ki sachi kahaniyan' parh chuki hoon. Partition ke pehle se Hindustan ki kuch history, kaale amal, jhoote peer, aur musaalmanon mein hinduana rasmon ka kaise bharhao hua, ye sab inhi novelon se hi seekha.
Kuch tareekhi kitabon ka yahan ziker kiya geya hai, inshaAllah kabhi woh bhi parhungi.
