"Do the people think that they will be left alone on saying 'We believe', and that they will not be tested? We did test those who have gone before them. Allah has to see who are the truthful and who are the liars."
How perfect You are O Allaah, and I praise You. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance
He said: " When you see good you should spread it".
and when you see something which does not please you you should hide it.
I don't quite agree. The statements are too general. Different situations demand different reactions. For example, one shouldn't hide an evil that one sees if it's going to harm others. The right course of action would be to expose that evil so that people might be warned about its danger.
And if you hear something which does not please you then you should forget it.
I hope I do not follow this advice. Because if I hear someone criticizing me, that would certainly displease me. It would be wonderful to forget what I heard. But if I were to forget what I heard, I would fall into a greater calamity. Of not trying to correct myself and benefiting from that criticism.
