Al Qassam website - "Al-Aqsa Foundation for Heritage" revealed on Monday, 15/2/2010, that there are large and dangerous cracks in addition to erosion in the walls and columns of the Marwani masjid.

The Marwani masjid is part of the Al-Aqsa; it is located in the south-east side under the ground.

In a report, "Al-Aqsa Foundation" stressed that it reveals these cracks after a field inspection carried out on Sunday for many hours; the tour included all parts of the Marwani masjid.

The foundation also stressed that these cracks occurred due to the Zionist campaign of excavations in the area of the Umayyad palaces directly adjacent to the Marwani masjid from the south side.

It added that the Zionist occupation prevented the Islamic Waqf of restoration work in the Marwani masjid, and this of course leads to the occurrence of such cracks and corrosion.

The foundation called for a dedicated engineering team from the Islamic world to attend to examine these cracks and to act immediately to save the structure of Al-Aqsa masjid.
