It has come to my attention that alot of people are saying im american muslim and others are sayin im an Iraqi muslim? Now we are definately adopting traits of kuffar because we arent classifying ourselves as muslims. What im trying to say is that we are basically saying ima New york Muslim and your a Afghan muslim. No such thing. If you like america and muslim and wish to live a pure muslim life in AMERICA. My friend GOOD LUCK if anybody is trying to attain that. Unless your at a mosque everyday all day for instance like imams and sheikhs with a few exceptions.Im not saying its impossible but abit difficult if your very social. But people have to respect that alot of poor muslims come to america to get a goodlife. So those who say oh your american muslim. I ask what does that have to do with anything being muslim and american at the same time? A muslim is a muslim wherever he may be regardless of ethnicity of where he lives. Ok maybe that muslim isnt in iraq or afghanistan fighting, maybe hes working trying to support his family , bunch of reasons. What im trying to basically say is do not classify people as being american muslims. You are a muslim that is all to be said. Basically We all are separated rather than united. Hint: another major sign of imam mahdi:
true..although i think sometimes when people ask you what religion you are..you wud ofcoarse answer muslim..so then they would ask you where you are from..*wherever land* i guess thats why people do that, not to classify themselves as a certain type of muslim or anything..
but yea some ppl do like what you say cuz they are trying to "fit in" so that they can say im from America *or whatever land* and im Muslim meaning..i do everything you do except I believe in Allah or i am just like you so dont think of me any differently because of the word "muslim" and they try to make it so that its annulled by that word....so yea thats not right.
or they use their native country to show nationalism towards it
I agree with you bro 100%. There is no im this muslim or that. Your Muslim. Simple as that. Period. Done. Finished. The whole world belongs to Allah, so that should be enough.
Then there are people who talk soo much about unity and then turn around the next minute and say "Im a Muslim, but im a Indian Muslim" or "Im a muslim, but im a Arab Muslim" etc, which therefore counters their first argument about Muslims around teh world not being united.

I absolutely loathe this 'putting nationality before religion' thing because the way people are using it is fundamentally flawed. I understand the problem, but here's an illustration of why it just gets silly:
'Man: What religion are you?
Me: Muslim.
Man: Oh. Which country are you from?
Me: UK'
So, in a manner of speaking, I'm a British Muslim, or a Muslim Brit depending on how PC you want to be.
What I'm saying is, let's stop whinging about little things like this, use our common sense, and worry about the bigger problems in life - you know, like our Muslim brothers and sisters being killed in every damn place but here?
I think Muezzin has a point, Allah has made us into nations and tribes, so that we may recognise one another, and he has said so in the Quran. Did you ever think maybe people said 'British Muslim', so that they could kill 2 birds with one stone???
''O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allâh is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa. Verily, Allâh is All-Knowing, All-Aware. (Al-Hujurat 49:13) ''
There are two very good points here. Muslim is what allah made us, Muslim is what we are, and muslim is what we're proud of. alhamdulilah. Thats it!
however, i think people just like to know where you are from, it makes conversation its something you may have in comman.
allah knows best

Well muezzin has a point heheh, but my point was to not discriminate other people because if they say im american muslim or im an afghan muslim. Your muslim period.
