    urgently seeking help

    Report bad ads?

I recently prayed isthikara first few days i felt quite neutral about the decision that im seeking help for when i got up to read my fazar prayers i felt quite good but i had no feeling that inclined me to particular decision.

However on wednesday as part of work meeting i had to go to this place which brought back lot of memories which i didnt want to remember and on the night i felt really down. To make feel more down I was watchingthis programme on peace tv about a man who converted and how people doubt our religion and think we just practise it to find comfort and we as human created god. That really upset me cause my faith is the only thing keeping me going at mo.

anyway on that night i prayed isthikara again as i was told we have to perform it 7 days in a row.

when i woke up yesterday i felt very negative all those feeling of past kept coming back which is affecting my decision which I was seeking help for. I felt like i wanted to go back my old ways and life was so much easier but deep down i know thats not what i want to do. but little voice in my head kept telling me who am i doing all this for trying to be good is there really god ( astagfirullah i hate my self for those thoughts even entering my minds) but its really upsetting me i feel so down and lost. I have been praying to Allah and seeking forgiveness for those thoughts but i keep feeling so negative about the path im following.

Have i done the isthikara wrong how come im feeling so negative about my faith

please brothers and sisters any help advice would be appreciated.

    Re: urgently seeking help

    Salam Alaikum

I think everyone goes through that initially before they find their faith. Knowledge is power my friend.

Rather than getting into all the insignificant little things that don't matter you should concentrate on the bigger picture.

Listen to lectures by Sheikh Ahmad Deedat, Dr Zakir Naik etc. It helped me a lot when I was going through a similar phase. There are hundreds on youtube.

Also watch the videos on www.harunyahya.com I found them really interesting.

Thats all I can suggest at this point. Hope that helps.

    Oh forgot to say..

I used to be sceptical about the "Satans whispers" but man they are 100% true.

Make yourelf aware of the whispers... you will be able to detect them. He is trying to confuse you and mislead you.

Do not fall into his trap my friend.

    Re: urgently seeking help

    Greetings and peace be with you AnonymousGender;

We spend a short time on this Earth and an Eternity in a greater life after death. I believe that God answers prayers and helps us in ways to find this greater life after death.

The things that we desire for life on Earth will die with us, we are each temporary custodians of a few things on God’s Earth.

I have copied this prayer from the forum and used it several times because it sum up beautifully how Allah works. I believe the prayer is understandable to people of all faiths. Sadly at the time I did not copy the name of the person who posted it or were it came from.

We pray in our way; and Allah answers in his way

    I asked for Strength.........
And Allah gave me Difficulties to make me strong.
    I asked for Wisdom.........
And Allah gave me Problems to solve.
    I asked for Prosperity.........
And Allah gave me Brain and Brawn to work.
    I asked for Courage.........
And Allah gave me Danger to overcome.
    I asked for Love.........
And Allah gave me Troubled people to help.
    I asked for Favours.........
    And Allah gave me Opportunities.

    I received nothing I wanted
    I received everything I needed
    My Prayer has been answered.
Pray for Others to Heal Yourself.

The Prophet was always concerned about other people, Muslims and non-Muslims, and would regularly pray for them. Praying for others connects you with them and helps you understand their suffering. This in itself has a healing component to it. The Prophet has said that praying for someone who is not present increases love.
    Assalaamu Alaikuum Warahamtul Lahi Wabarakatuh
    Be Thankful

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
    During those times you grow.

    Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.

    Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.

It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks.

GRATITUDE can turn a ! negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.
In the spirit of praying for an inner peace that surpasses all understanding.

    Re: urgently seeking help

Word of advice bro or sis. It is shataan, and I was filled with doubt a while ago. I thought Paradise was a dwelling place for the pleasure of men (astagfirullah), and then I told myself every time such thoughts of doubt crossed my mind, I would pray to rakas. That must have pissed of Shatan, because the silly thoughts of doubts stopped. Hit Shataan hard I tell you

So, every time you have those thoughts of doubt get up, make wadu, and pray two rakas.

And make sure your intentions are to clear and purify your heart from the whispers of Shatan.

    Hope that helps.
