Is there anything wrong with being a secondary school English teacher as a ..? HELP

Muslimah? I was supposed to do it this year but have applied again for next year (starting September 2013). I've not got my place yet but please make dua for me. Unfortunately one of the places that I wanted has filled up (I applied too late) and I doubt I'll get onto the other 'Big' Uni...I won't fit in with the clever clogs and doubt I'll get in...

For some reason I've been having two thoughts about it today...I've always wanted to be a teacher...but I'm afraid I won't get on or I will be at a university far from home all alone The other thing is I teach at a Madrassah part time and I love my job even though the pay is like less than 100 quid a week. I doubt I'll be able to survive on that when I'm married...I'm not the sort to use someone else's money or ask...I don't even ask my dad...But its okay because I don't spend much and to me money isn't everything. But I just want decent pay to help my parents out...

But I don't know why I feel uncomfortable about teaching English? All I know is that I'll feel better speaking to my fellow muslims who will remind me about how our life is so temporary in the dunya and that Allah will help me

I think I feel scared about not getting on/ or getting a place far away (far away means anything thats 20 mins away on train..I get homesick) or having to mix with the opposite gender (Not used to it/ hate it).

Please Please Allah do whats best for me (

    Muslimah?
Personally, I don't think there is especially if it's a girl school whether of Islamic background or non-religious background. If it's a mixed school then wear Hijab and try and uphold Hijab (includes clothing (obviously), they way you speak, distancing from the opposite gender), it may be hard at times especially if you need to address the opposite gender but still maintain the Hijab

Hey! Don't belittle yourself like that. Just because you think you ain't all that in academics does not mean you don't excel in other areas of life!!!

It's good that you love your job, you've got a good'un. So why don't you stick at it and you never know, you may receive full-time sooner or later. That's what happend to me, I volunteered, given part-time and now full-time. Plus, i received extra education thrown in for free!
Who's to say you'll work after you marry? Seems like you would want to, and if your future husband agrees then go ahead, but choose your jobs carefully. And also, after one marries, it is the man's job to work, provide for his family, so make sure you ask before marriage if it is alright for you to work.

A noble and just sentiment and you shall, just be patient, plus your parents may be understanding of your current situation anyways, and in time you'll be able to help your parents, stay positive

Then don't. If it's a gut instinct, follow through.
