In my area we have a large population of rats and our house is infested with them and there leaving droppings everywhere and I'm not sure if any prayers counted.
Contact the council and they will lay down rat poison around the house insha Allah.
Generally, in the winter months rats seek shelter and warmth so more people have uninvited ‘guests’ in their home.
Rats can be very dangerous to the human health especially if you have babies in the house – take action straight away sister or lay down your own traps.
Pain and hardships allow you to grow spiritually Alhamdulilah so smile when a so called calamity befalls upon you.
Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
Rat droppings are Najis (impure), so you cannot pray in an area that is contaminated with rat droppings until the area has been completely washed and purified of all the impure traces.
If the place where you actually pray is clean, then the prayers are ok. You can use a clean cloth or carpet or anything like a wooden plank or a cardboard or a plastic sheet to pray on it.
Since rat droppings are not in liquid form, you can easily use a vacuum cleaner to clean the rooms.
Definitely contact your local council inshaAllah, they should resolve this problem for you.
We've never had rats in our actual house, but we had a slight problem with rats eating our chickens' food and drinking their water. They are such a pain so it'd be best for you to get rid of them.
