Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu brother
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured." (Quran 13:28)
What this Aya teaches me is to remember Allah SWT by saying "Allahu akbar" "Alhamdulilla" and "SubhanAllah". When pondering over my problems. Especially "Allahu akbar". Thinking about my problem and say Allahu akbar and trying to realise that Allah SWT is much greater than our problems
I don't believe depression is a spiritual problem. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain, which personally I believe is induced by the lifestyle that we live today. I've found that for a lot of people depression usually just slowly resolves itself with the passage of time, and the best thing to do is to engage is a lot of self care and do things that give you happiness and fulfilment. Also, rule out all possible factors. Are you being overstimulated? Too much TV, social media? Caffeine sensitivity? Unhappy relationships etc?

depression is over-rated. get over your "self"... you want to be happy? stop thinking about YOU, and start living for OTHERS who matter. Surround yourself with the PIOUS. Remember Allah often. Eat less meat. Drink no fizzypop. Value water. And the plant, animal and human kingdoms of life. Love your parents. Visit the sick. Praise Allah. Repeat!
