When you are punished by Allah, does he sympathise with the struggle you are having?

Well lets see... if you for example, dont pray nor give charity neither do any good deed, then the struggle you face could be your punishment from God. Because, hardship is meant to erase our sins. But if you are a man who prays x5 a day without delaying prayers and you do good deeds day by day, and you face some struggle, then this could be a sign that He wants To level up your status in Paradise.
