Source of sinning : Me or shaytaan?

At what point do you know when the haram you do is caused from you alone and shaytaan no longer has an influence on you? I know right from wrong, truth from falsehood, yet I continue to do haram acts. It’s an addiction and I can’t stop thinking about it. At this point in life I feel like my soul is so corrupt that shaytaan does not need to try and influence me in any way as I’m doing it all on my own. I have been on this roller coaster of highs and lows for so many years and I can’t find a way to stay stable... So much shame...

    Assalamu Alaikum,

Shaitan doesn't make you sin. You sin. You're the one in control of your actions.

If you have an addiction then you need to put boundaries in place where you have interventions for yourself not just between you and the act itself but between you and your thoughts, and between you and your desires.

Shaitan did his job on you which is to coerce you into falling into sin. But the sin itself is on you.

Re: Source of sinning : Me or shaytaan?

but Allah swt guides whom he wills....... right?

shouldn't stop you trying to get closer to Allah swt though.... free will and determination plays a big part here....

either you take the initiative yourself and navigate yourself to Allah swt....
or eventually find yourself in situations facing loss and eventually being drawn back to Allah swt calling for his help!

first one is better.... what do you reckon?

    may Allah swt guide you....

you've found yourself in this forum, many people experiencing troubles eventually, leading us and them closer to Allah swt.

everyone's journey and experiences are different and unique.

we don't know whats in your fate but

    its never too late.

substitute your haram acts with good.

hope theres opportunities where you are based. like masjids and muslim community.
stuff readily available on the net. careful what or who you follow though...

plenty of ways to stop your haram acts... trust me, pray your 5 daily salaah, read quran, do zikhr, supplicate, learn quranic dua's. adopt a sunnah lifestyle, you'll need to sacrifice some i'm sure, ask questions, ask em here if you want, you'll get the help!
