can people please give me some suggestions about jobs that are suitable for muslim women, ones that will be specifically benefitial to the muslims? what kind of areas do we need more muslim women in?
Med (services for other female sisters..including Dent/Optom etc..)
but they will be forced to work with men wont they and they will have to touch them and be alone with them? the law doesnt let people say i want to work only with women does it? so the women will fall into haram...
but at the same time dont muslims need muslim female health workers? can it be seen as the great good to do teh course even if it means touching men?

In todays world I would not recommend commerce for ANYONE male or female UNLESS you know it is a proper Islamic insttute or Bank.
I have been offered various job openings in Banks, one was so good it was painful to decline it, it came with the 'works', house bills paid, car, huge salary, medical, lots of holiday time, education allowance international travel .....with Standard Chartered Bank
BUT all that is not worth being a merchant of Interest (Riba)
Majority banks deal in Riba nowadays, so to take on such a job knowingly is signing your own hell contract....
Regarding people who deal in Riba Allah swt and his Prophet declare WAR on them.....Here we are told to stop dealing in Riba....

If ye do it not, take notice of war from Allah and his Apostle: but if ye turn back ye shall have your capital sums; deal not unjustly and ye shall not be dealt with unjustly.

Depends where ur living i guess..and you can always send off males to other clinics 'sorry im full, here's somewhere else u can repair urself at' lol

e.g, in Media dere's sooo many positions that don't invovle haram..
Film Design (heaps of opportunities to direct/create islamic films/documenteries etc...)
Poster Design
Post production (working on audio productions, technical sorta stuff..)
- Leading departments that adress sister needs as far as media is concenred, catering for needs of sisters or specific sectors that sisters can relate to easily.
- Writing books, articles, publications etc..
All the above depend on the nature of organisation you work in.... My advise is, be visionary, setup your aim goals and team, connect to other groups and organisations etc.

Diploma of Education in my country... depends where you want to specialise... i know a few educationists, and it sure is alot of work to make custom syllabus and education programs, but rewarding i guess.
As far as islam is concerned, depends where u are really.... Diff people shout and promote diff unis.. that's a diff ball game though.

project management, can be used for business purposes as well as doing things like Media (those skills are important)
Operations management, great for dawah.
Actuary
General Biz Management, run your own bizness, use the money to fund projects and help people..
Economics, this si prob more for personal use, use the knowledge to analyse countries, write reports, make people aware of problems etc...
Accounting, great for organisation purposes.. run your own business efficiently
Finance , alot of methods to gain money might be haram, but there's also alot of useful tips and tricks that you can use to tailor your own solutions to your own biz needs

Economics, Accounting, Management, Quantitative Methods, Finance, Actuary and soo many others..
Depends hwo you apply your knowledge you can endup in dreamjobs which are totally halal... and open up doors to so many other opportunities, without sweating too hard.
I like the idea of teaching Islam the best. It benefits others Islamically, you islamically and financially and then the benefits continue after death in the way that those you've taught continue to practice/spread faith. And it's a superb way of pleasing Allah swt.
Muslimah_Sis i love that idea but dont i need a proffessional islamic education myself before i can teach islam? i dont really have the means to get that

im sure that is illegal/unethical...... unless the person specialises as a doctor for women(which i am not interested in) and also it means that she still has to study medicine for years and work with male patients in that time(and their whole bodies) any other type of doctor, including a gp has to work with both genders and be alone with them, even dentists, they cant reject men, men and women have the same teeth...
do you think the need for muslim doctors/dentists is important enough that it is ok for muslims to study in western universities that force the students with work with both genders? and if no one studies medicine then we have no muslim doctors.....
i dont understand why muslims are always recommending other muslms to study medicine when it is impossible for them not to fall into haram?

depends how you define professional, there's a diff between being properly learned in Islam and claiming to have professional education just coz u spent time at a uni... that's something ppl messup alot today.

ps: about islamic education.. if you wanna be an educationist, they don't have many (if any) pre-requisites for islamic education... most of the people involved in islamic education have no idea in first place..... also i knwo personally some people who work in islamic syllabus design and they never really studied islam... they just got pHd in the field they specialising in and das about it.
so really the onus is upon you to be sincere and make sure you're laying out the right stuff for people to learn. that can be done by referring to classical sources and quran and sunnah ofcourse and learning from sincere scholars.

Because I wear hijab and re-arrange my lunch hours to take time off for jummah, everyone knows I'm muslim. When I behave in a good manner, work hard, and am polite, people will get a positive image of islam.
Muslim women, especially hijabs/niqabis, always have the opportunity to do good things for muslims, simply by being happy, healthy, productive citizens.
I would think that any field (asside from one that clearly deals in the haram, like exotic dancer or liquor salesman ), is beneficial to muslims, especially if the muslim woman is a hijabi.

alot of ppl like to think that way to legitimise their jobs. you could apply same argument for someone working in an interest bank. just because they walk around in hijab (or with beard) doesn't change the fact that they're waging a war against Allah by being in that job.
