That's something which made me confused : When I open the 'mushaf' and read Surat al-Fatiha, I find the the word/ayah "bismillah-ir-ra7hmen-ir-rahim" (In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.) is numbered as Ayah N°1. So we should always read it, otherwise the Fatiha will not be complete. And if, in the salat, the fatiha is not complete (completely read), then the salat will be invalid.
But after praying behind a big number of Imams, I realised that they do not pronounce the first ayah (bismillah...) and start reciting from "Al-hamdulilli rabi-l-aalamin...etc", So I'm confused :
1) did they not read it at all ? and in this case, is their salat correct ?
2) did they read it in a low voice so i can't hear it ? and also is this correct ? For example in Isha Prayer, you have to read qur'an aloud (every ayah in fatiha should be read aloud), so will salat in this case be considered incomplete ?
Please if someone has a clear response from scholars or ahadeeth, it'll be very helpful.
"O you who believe! Fear ALLAH as He should be feared" [aal 'Imraan, 102]
There is a difference of opinion among the fuqaha on whether Bismillah is a part of Surah Al-Fatihah or not. According to Imam Shaf'i (RH), it is part of Surah Al-Fatihah, therefore he recited it aloud in Salah. But according to Imam Abu Hanifah (RH) and other fuqaha, it is not part of Surah Fatihah. Nevertheless, Bismillah is still recited before Surah Al-Fatihah, but softly.
yep and Bismillah hirahman niraheem means = In the name of Allah, Most Beneficient, Most Merciful
He it is Who sends blessings on you, as do His angels, that He may bring you out from the depths of Darkness into Light: and He is Full of Mercy to the Believers. [Quran {33:43}] www.QuranicAudio.com www.Quran.com
