Asalamu wa alaikum, brothers and sisters! :) I have a few questions about Jan-na, you see, so I thought maybe I would find an Islamic forum online to discuss it with.

Before I start, I'd just like to say that I'm 15 years old, so maybe my questions will sound a little trivial or stupid to you guys, and if so, I hope you'll excuse me. :) It's just that I have been dwelling on these questions for a few days now, and would like to know what others will make of it.

Okay, well, one of the things I was wondering was...like, you know how if by Allah :Swt: 's mercy, you manage to make your way to Jan-na, then you will be granted eternal happiness and peace? (This includes, I suppose, being given whatever it is that you wish for.) Well, what if one of the things that you want in Jan-na is to be able to, let's say, watch a certain television program that you enjoyed very much while you were on Earth? At first, I thought "Well, since you will be granted whatever you wish for, then you will probably be able to." But would that really be possible? Let's say that the television program you enjoyed happened to have, as a part of the plot, a little bit of conflict, and maybe martial arts or something. If you think about it, maybe that kind of thing won't be allowed in Jan-na, because in Jan-na, there can't/won't exist any conflicts or troubles or violence. But wouldn't that mean you wouldn't be granted what you wished for, thus disrupting the concept of eternal happiness there? (Obviously there are other things you could entertain yourself with in Jan-na, but let's just say that you really really wanted to watch this particular television program.) So what would happen, then?

Or what if your life-long dream (while you lived on Earth) consisted of becoming a skilled person at martial arts, or sword-fighting? Such activities require an opponent, plus you are, technically, aiming to harm someone, which wouldn't be allowed in Jan-na. But this has always been something you've dreamed of, so of course if you went to Jan-na, you would really want to wish for that particular thing (to become a martial arts/swords master). What would happen here, too?

Again, I apologize if my questions appear trivial and point-less, but I really would be interested in knowing the answers to them! So please impart any knowledge on this matter that you might have! :)

Thank you, brothers and sisters!!

Aslamu Alikum Sista~!
Well ... I may not have vast knowledge or so. Also I hope I'm not wrong. Firstly ... what I know is that people in Jannah would be devoted to Allah & Islam. If you (Not you, Just talking in general) love or are devoted to something else on earth then you can't be devoted to Allah! As Human Being can devote his/her life to one Goal! Also I heard that the thing you love the most in earth, will be beside you on the day of judgment. So if a person loves Martial Art Or whatsoever in this life. How can he devote himself to Allah Tallah? Of Course People In Jannah will receive their wishes but their wishes will be more related to Allah & and His Prophets (P.B.U.T). To whom they Love and Whom their Goal was set.
Hope It Helped Sista~!

Forgive me for mentioning this, but your primary concern should be, not ending up in hell. Whatever paradise is like, it is probably better than hell. Yes, the hadith do mention some aspects of paradise. These include flowing rivers of honey and milk (if my memory serves me right), houses of pearls, large trees etc. From my knowledge of the quran, you will enter into paradise with your spouses and family. From the hadith I also remember references to meeting other people in paradise. Thus we know some aspects of paradise but not its entirety.

I do not wish to reprimand but in today's world we have better things to worry about rather than such trivial things. Your community is under attack by devious groups hell bent on seeing you wiped out. Help the people in your community and rather concern yourself with that which improves your character and learn about the world. Allah mentioned somewhere in the Quran, think about the creation, not for naught didst though create this world (something along those lines).

lol just wondering which television program you'd want to watch in heaven...? must be that good.

Anyways, when an individual enters the paradise, I don't think he would remember anything from the "earth life". I think it is completely erased from his memories. At least that's what I heard. Would be good if someone can come up with a source that proves.

How can it all be erased when you are to visit with your friends and family insha'Allah.. and if one of them is in a higher better place than yours, you can go up to their gardens ...

Paradise.. has that which no eyes have seen nor ears have heard, nor occurred to anyone's imagination..

there is no point defining it by our earthly terms or limited imagination.. what is defined to us of it is only the best things of this world that we can relate to. Gardens, springs, family, and peace without sorrow.

But Allah swt has prepared for the eternal house is nothing we can conceive.. we'll be a different better creation all together insha'Allah

and Allah knows best

Wa'alaikum as'salaam lil sis :)

You know when i was a teen, i used to think of all the video games i love that i would want to play in jannah. There is nothing wrong in thinking like that, Allah has promised us whatever our heart desires once we get there. The important thing is that we do what He says and don't do what He forbids so inshallah we can get there without any pit stops in other places (like hell).

With that said. We will meat our family and loved ones in jannah. It will have things that are similiar to earth but much much better. You will eat fruits of jannah and will say, i remember eating something similiar to this on earth. So if you want to be a grand master of martial arts in Jannah than know that it is not hard for Allah to grant you that wish. Also, know that once you get there inshallah, you will be so amazed by everything there that you wouldn't care about what things you want now.

As for your love for martial arts. You can make that ibadah (worship) and a benefit for the ummah inshallah. Inshallah what you can do is find a female instructor and learn from her to your heart's desire. And then offer classes to muslim girls fo all ages at your community center, make our sisters strong enough to defend themselves. Do what you love but also do it for sake of Allah and inshallah it will become an ibadaah for you, good hasanats and even sadaqa jar'ryrah (continuous charity or deeds).

Asalam O Alikum to all

Well bluecrayon , what i can answer you is that there is a complete difference between life in jannah and in this earth. Currently you may like thing that attract you in earth but in jannah when you have thing which are far far far superior than earth life (as they are eternal while earth things are for limited period) them perhaphs possible any one might never thinks this off. just as when you get better thing you never want to have a thing of lower grade.

(Allah know better)
