Should Shows like "SOUTH PARK" be banned?

“Freedom of Speech” is a widely used statement nowadays everywhere in the world. But does it also include insulting other people and damaging their reputation? If yes, then such type of “Freedom of Speech” is not at all appreciated in Islam. Islam gives a lot of stress on protecting an individual’s reputation.

There should always be a separating line between a “joke” and an “insult”. Injuring someone’s reputation is an immoral act. Such type of “shows” insults just anyone they want for ENTERTAINMENT REASONS (for God’s sake!) Yukh! If this is not pathetic and disgusting then what is it?

Can’t there be some decent ways of getting entertained? In the name of humor, they go as far as making fun of our beloved Prophets! (uff tobah!) They make fun of Prophet Muhammad, Jesus, Moses etc (may peace be on them all).:astagfiru

So brother/sister in Islam or brother/sister in humanity, don’t you think that such “Shows” should be banned?

Just look at their gross and fungal mentality that they would not even resist making fun of handicap people! How unacceptable!!! :raging:

I know that there are many indecent and evil people who would watch porn and would support such “Shows” but I think (and strongly wish) that not the whole world is like them!

This. You can even put controls on your TV I think that prevent you from watching shows like it. I strongly dislike South Park, but thanks to a little something called FREE WILL, I never watch it.

I like south park, don't watch it much, but they should keep religion out of it

I dislike South Park and I have never watched it. I can't say if it should be banned or not, from what little I do know about it.

Am I a fan of free speech? Nope. I will be the first to say that I do not support free speech.

Offensive shouldn't be the norm and if you don't like it turn off your set.. it should be the other way around.. you won't have so many pathetic hateful turds roaming the earth because bad behavior and offensive material was spoon fed them from childood's hour!

Of course that such shows should be banned. Censorship should back, total freedom of speech is a huge heretical idioticism.

I believe I know what that is. I have seen it before. Several internet groups (primarily consisting of the non-religious) attempted to take action against her for doing that. She was arrested eventually I believe. I do not condone the killing or harming of animals for entertainment and never have. That is hardly comparable to Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You - which I asked, would others here have banned for being offensive (and they can be, the panelists actually outright mock real people every week).

It isn't up my alley at all. How do you get from crude humour and black humour to gaining enjoyment and amusement out of the killing of life?

You would do well to note of course, that there are millions and millions of atheists in the prosporous states of Northern Europe such as Sweden, Norway, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark etc that have not melted down into civil war, nor seen their governments capitulate. Of course given that you refuse to check Vexen.co.uk because of a faulty Firefox addon that claims the website is infected, you'd never know.

I have to believe in divine justice when there is no other form to be had.. although to be honest as much as I couldn't sleep yesterday thinking of that poor kitten clinging on to her boots in sheer horror and unable to mouth her fear that I got a joy thinking of crushing that ***** in a similar fashion. Some people aren't fit to be human or a part of society, yet they insist that their criminality is protected under some sort of man made law!

Pretty much anything that does not involve deliberate physical harm to people or animals, or harassment towards the lives of others. Why is it hypocritical to not condone sadism in the name of humour?

Oh, I have (which is more than you did with my link). Keep in mind that even if you assume the statistics are inaccurate, you have no way of knowing how the highly irreligious nations of Scandinavia and Northern Europe function. You then cannot claim that atheists bring turmoil everywhere they go.

i cant stand this type of cruelty. kittens must be the most innocent little creatures on the face of this planet.

this is bloody sick how anybody could watch this for enjoyment. how could humans be so stone hearted? i don't get it. this is a question that keeps on bugging me. me and my brother were talking about this too long ago and he said its probably because these people were abused or molested or something then they take there anger out on the creation because they are angry at god and the world. but still how many people go through trials in life and they dont turn out to be evil *****es

id probably risk my own life to rescue an animal from a bunch of thugs

I don't think she was abused or molested, I think people like to make excuses to why they are so vile, but the reality is some folks are plain evil without excuses .. was cain molested and abused by his parents before killing his brother? These are the sins and evils of the soul that has no harness and no boundaries.. Frankly I don't think any minor arrest to that woman can undo what she has done.. I don't think any sort of apology or retraction if at all can undo the damage done.. human life and dignity that is God bestowed is cheap for some, because they believe in none of those variables! It is all just tissues that have self assembled and cheap and 'fun' to take apart!

In general, yes it does. We're not talking about whether physical violence to those who do not consent should be tolerated in the name of entertainment. Of course it should not, and I don't think you will find anyone on here that would disagree with that. The thread is about what sort of comedy is acceptable under the umbrella of free-speech. You know, that I effectively believe there to be as little limit in terms of what should be acceptable in terms of free speech in entertainment.

Neither theists or atheists are surveyed. It is a rundown of what countries set the best examples in many areas of society.
