I've learned that when I have a sincere intention for anything - no matter how hard it seems to be and how many obstacles it will have to face - sooner or later it comes true.

When the inward is good the outward is also inevitably so, for the outward always follows the inward, whether good or evil.

Never forget that turning a blind eye to oppression and watching from the sidelines is itself opression

People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.

It was not Muslims that had made Islam great; it was Islam that had made the Muslims great.

The beginning of knowledge is the intention, then listening, then understanding, then action, then preservation, and then spreading it.

Worry about Allah and what He wants you to do and He will take care of your worries.

Classic Quotes by Malcolm X (1925-1965) U.S. spiritual leader

Concerning nonviolence, it is criminal to teach a man not to defend
himself when he is the constant victim of brutal attacks.

---------------

The common goal of 22 million Afro-Americans is respect as human
beings, the God-given right to be a human being. Our common goal is to
obtain the human rights that America has been denying us. We can never
get civil rights in America until our human rights are first restored.
We will never be recognized as citizens there until we are first
recognized as humans.

---------------

You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace
unless he has his freedom.

---------------

The Negro revolution is controlled by foxy white liberals, by the
Government itself. But the Black Revolution is controlled only by God"

---------------

I believe in the brotherhood of man, all men, but I don't believe in
brotherhood with anybody who doesn't want brotherhood with me. I
believe in treating people right, but I'm not going to waste my time
trying to treat somebody right who doesn't know how to return the
treatment.

---------------

There is nothing in our book, the Koran, that teaches us to suffer
peacefully. Our religion teaches us to be intelligent. Be peaceful, be
courteous, obey the law, respect everyone; but if someone puts his
hand on you, send him to the cemetery. That's a good religion.

---------------

It's just like when you've got some coffee that's too black, which
means it's too strong. What do you do? You integrate it with cream,
you make it weak. But if you pour too much cream in it, you won't even
know you ever had coffee. It used to be hot, it becomes cool. It used
to be strong, it becomes weak. It used to wake you up, now it puts you
to sleep.

"Send him to the cemetery" may be an overly-harsh or poor choice of words for someone putting 'their hand on you', but it is true that Islam authorizes the controlled and just excercise of force in defence and when one's rights are being infringed, and that seems to be the idea he is trying to convey here.

If your honest and frank, people may cheat you; but be honest anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy it overnight; but build it anyway. If you find happiness, they may be jealous; but be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; but do good anyway. You will see in the final analysis it is between you and Allah- It was never between you and them anyway.

My fave has to be:

“What can my enemies do to me?

My paradise is in my heart, it is with me wherever I go.

To imprison me is to provide me with seclusion

To send me into exile is to send me away in the path of Allah

And to kill me is to make me a martyr” -Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyya

'if anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge of islam, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. the angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge of islam, the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. the superiority of the learned man over the devout is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. the learned are heirs of the Prohets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dihram, leaving only knowledge, and the one who takes it takes an abundant portion.' - bukhari
