If it had been thy Lord's Will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! Wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe!
this is another confusing verse. ı looked up google but couldnt find any rational explantion.
ı think pre -destination is valid in islam but ı believe in qadar due to fear of god as ı suppose that reason is limited.we cannot know eternity in my opinion.
Re: If it had been thy Lord's Will, they would all have believed,- all who are on ear
as-salamu alaykum
brother, it is advised to people to dwell into this topic. It can be confusing sometime if you don't have strong faith and proper knowledge and can lead one to falsehood. The issue of qadr is one of the earliest issues for which some Muslims deviated from true path and new sect came into existence known as qadriyyah.
Islam is all about submission and not understanding everything using our limited intellect. Is our rational thinking superior to revelation?

In addition to what the brother above mentioned, it is worth mentioning that asking lay people for their personal opinions is not an appropriate way to seek knowledge, let alone clarification of a verse of the Qur'an. It would be more befitting to ask a person of knowledge and referring to the books of tafseer where they will give an answer based upon knowledge of the Qur'an and Sunnah, not mere personal opinion.
