    Question

In Islam, who will judge us on the day of judgement?

    Re: Judgement Day

Allah is the only one who can judge you.

Or, what do you exactly mean?

    Re: Judgement Day

But why must Allah judge the dead?

My assumption will be, the dead seek/ask for Justice. So to give Justice, Allah must judge the dead. Therefore it is not the will of Allah to judge, it is because the dead ask for it.

    What's your opinion?

    No, not like that.
Allah SWT asked all of His creations, such as angels, mountains, planets, stars, etc., if they wanted a free-will and be held responsible for what they do in the universe. All entities in His creation declined....except we foolish humans. Therefore, here we are, expressing our free will for a certain defined time, where in the end there will be judgement about our choices and actions based on our free will.

So the judgement was already agreed upon beforehand. This world is just a test...a temporary location where we can have our free will.
Allah created humans as natural sinners. We all sin eventually...so none of the dead will ask for judgement...on the contrary, they will try to avoid it as much as they can.

To decline & to except is free-will

If Allah asked all his creations, then all his creations already had free-will.

    No.

Being able to make a certain choice does not automatically mean free will.
animals make choices all the time. They choose when to sleep, where to go, what to hunt, when to flee or attack, etc. etc.
No one would argue with you that animals are creatures with free will.

Free will includes being able to distinguish between good and evil. Being able to deliberately go against Gods laws. choosing for the evil thing.
So you need a higher level of awareness and consiousness for that. They just choose between two permissible things. They do not deliberately go against God by choosing the one or the other.

    That is the difference.
