The Persian manuscripts depict the event:

Picture context: Depicting Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with people (or his Sahaba) around him while he points to the moon and it is split in two parts: This found its way into the Mayan culture because they saw the event and incorporated it into their books.

The Madrid Codex does too:

Picture context: A rabbit moon god dancing while its head is split in two parts: This found its way into the Mayan culture because they saw the event and incorporated it into their arts.

Introduction:

I've been reading the various threads on Reddit looking at all the various posts about this topic and most of them are in the "ExMuSlIm" community and almost all of them are either archived or locked, so nobody can correct them and refute them or even make a small input to their obvious ignorance (no pun intended, but it's nothing but ignorance). None of them actually back anything up nor use any scholarly works to come to the opinions they have. And even when they do it, they either lie or misunderstand or fail to mention the full all inclusive info from the scholar. I bought prof Erik Thompson's book about the Mayans and literally read the whole thing and I came to the exact same conclusion as the brothers who first brought this to our attention. It is super clear. Indeed, the simultaneous creation of similar symbolic representations in different cultures without direct interaction is a very fascinating and telling phenomenon to those of sane minds and intellect. This occurrence is often referred to as "convergent evolution" in the context of cultural symbolism. It suggests that certain cosmic events or ideas have been universally significant or awe-inspiring to different societies, leading them to independently incorporate similar symbols into their own cultural expressions. The fact that these depictions appeared in different regions of the world during the same era quite clearly proves that there was something happening on a cosmic or celestial level that captured the attention of people from various cultures. While there was no direct contact or influence between these cultures, shared celestial events or phenomena left a lasting impact that found its way into their artistic and symbolic representations. and In the tapestry of human history, certain threads emerge, weaving together distant cultures and time periods in ways that defy mere coincidence. The interplay between the split moon, the moon rabbit, and the enigmatic Persian Codex forms an enigmatic narrative that transcends borders and epochs, inviting us to explore a cosmic connection of undeniable significance. This article delves into this intricate web, supported by scholarly insights and historical evidence, to demonstrate the profound link binding these symbols together.

I. The Persian Codex: A Silent Echo

The connection deepens as we turn our gaze to the enigmatic pages of the Persian Codex. The undeniable visual resonance between its depiction and the moon's division in Islamic tradition cannot be dismissed as a mere coincidence. This cross-cultural manifestation reinforces the idea of cosmic archetypes that transcend individual cultures, inviting us to explore the universal human fascination of the universe.

II. Scholarly Echoes: Thompson's Insights

To solidify the connection, we must turn to the scholarly insights of noted mayanist. J. Eric Thompson. In his extensive exploration of Mayan iconography, Thompson sheds light on the moon rabbit's identity. Thompson notes, "The rabbit in the moon, which also appears on Maya vases, is likely a moon god himself." This assertion, grounded in his comprehensive study of Mayan iconography, lends weight to the notion that the moon rabbit transcends mere folklore.

III. Cosmic Threads Across Time and Space

Thompson's scholarship reverberates beyond the realm of Mayan iconography. In his research, he reveals the possibility of cosmic synchronicity, where motifs and symbols emerge independently across cultures due to shared cosmic experiences. This perspective allows us to consider the split moon, the moon rabbit, and the Persian Codex as threads woven into the same event, visible to cultures that gazed upon the same cosmic wonder, namely the miracle of our beloved Prophet.

IV. A Unified Narrative

Viewed through this comprehensive lens, the splitting of the moon, the moon rabbit, and the Persian Codex coalesce into a unified narrative of cosmic exploration. The evidence shows that these symbols emerged independently, yet concomitantly, through shared cosmic observations. As we unravel this cosmic puzzle, we gain insight into the intricacies of human fascination with the celestial real, as well as it strengthens our faith in the last Messenger and Prophet of God.

V. Inescapable Conclusions

The convergence of these symbols leaves an indelible mark, testifying to the authenticity and truthfulness of the Prophet-hood of Muhammad (ﷺ). It is an undeniable fact that this indeed did happen, but it wasn't recorded that well into the history books. It bothers them, it angers them that our Prophet is one of those Prophets whose miracles can be showcased in various cultures and history books of nations that hadn't even met each other even once before. Alhamdulillah for Islam!

VI. They depict the same notion due to observation, not due to trade

As we draw our exploration to a close, it is evident that the split moon, the moon rabbit, and the Persian Codex depict one and the same event. Their emergence across cultures and epochs speaks to a shared experienced event/scenario. Moreover, the Indian king that converted to Islam, they try and make it seem as if these are only hearsay by the luminaries of Islam, the mountains, the monsters of knowledge. The 'Ulama! Our scholars have (and praise be to Allah) always been on top of their thing. Nevertheless, William Logan spoke about his conversion and all the details concerning it in his book “Malabar Manual”, Raja Valiya Thampuran of Kodungallore as well in her interview. It's not only Muslims narrating this event. This is a well known event and it will stay being well known by the will of God.
So we can easily, yet very confidently but still humbly say:

  • At least three different continents, wide and far away from each other, bore witness to the miracle!
  • The absurdity that it just is a fabrication by Muslims is beyond ignorant and anyone who says this doesn't know what he's talking about. The Qurays traveled to nearby cities to confirm with the people there if they indeed did see the moon split because they thought that Muhammad ﷺ "put a spell" on them. You can't just make up an incident like this 1400 years ago. There would be countless reports accusing the Muslims of forging a cosmical event. The incident indeed did happen, the question they should be coming to us with is: was it a miracle by Muhammad ﷺ and not just a natural phenomena.
  • There doesn't have to be scientific indications on the moon as NASA and the atheists imply: It was a miraculous phenomena, it being of that nature while splitting, why does it need to be of a different nature while conjoining again?! This argument is nonsensical. But we get it... they don't believe in God so even the thought of a "miracle" taking place does not register with them to begin with. Everything needs to be "in natural course" and have a natural cause.

An advice to Muslims: when they start throwing claims at our religion, do everyone a favor, buy the scholarly works and read it yourself and you'll come to know how Islam stands errorfree in all cases .
