Question When was the Bible changed?

    Report bad ads?

when was the Bible changed? before or after muhammad? if before then why did he refer to the bible as containing 'guidance and truth'? if after, why do biblical scholars (a ) date and (b ) use manuscripts dated to before the 3rd century ad, and often before 120AD?

    Before.

    He never did.

The original scriptures revealed to Moses were guidance and truth but then they were corrupted.

    Re: Bible

How is it possible to refer to a link (from Islamic-Awareness) that states right from the start that "Jesus did not instructs his followers to write a New Testament". Such a saying immediately shows the bias of the article.

Read the entire article; it is based on Christian and secular sources completely. Every conclusion has been thoroghly researched by examining all available evidence.

    Salam Alaikum and Peace:

First of all, the Bible....a group of books/writings was compiled long after the death of Jesus, pbuh. Nothing in the lifetime of Jesus, pbuh, was recorded or written and He never asked for it to be. Otherwise there would be the Gospels according to Jesus.

The true teachings of Jesus and the prophets before Him, (pbuta), were changed long before they went into print. However, that's not to say that some of the true teachings didn't make it into the bible.

When the Qur'an says to look to the bible, it is talking about the areas where they agree. These are the true words of God. We can't say the entire writings in the bible are all false. We know Jesus, pbuh, was one of the greatest prophets, we know He performed miracles, we know He was sent with a message. Unfortunately, overtime, much of what he taught became twisted and altered. His main message was clear, just as it was with all the prophets, "The Lord Thy God is ONE God". He constantly taught the oneness of God, yet the council of Nicea introduced the concept of the Trinity, or Tri-Union.

Jesus, pbuh, was clear when He said he was not here to abolish the old law: In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus stated: “17 Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the [way of] the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. 18For, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished.”

However, Paul, who claimed to be a disciple of Jesus, systematically cancelled the laws. In his letter to the Romans, chapter 7:6, he stated, “But now we are discharged from the law, dead to that which held us captive, so that we serve not under the old written code but in the new life of the Spirit.”

When and how the bible started to be corrupt is written in the bible itself, as you can see from the above.

As far as the manuscripts go, if you are referring to the Dead Sea Scrolls, the vast majority of those were written BEFORE Jesus, pbuh, not after. And most of what they discuss are individuals at the time, society, etc. And, most of what they have are small fragments they tediously try to put together. Large sections are missing and they do thier best to "fill in the blanks", but these are, at best, educated guesses. So, I wouldn't rely too much on those manuscripts. Not yet anyway.

    Hope this answers your question.

    Wasalam and peace,
    Hana

    Talking Re: Bible

    Assalam Alakaium,

The New Testament was written in the 4th century by Constantine and his council by their own words:

The books and gospels of the bible were written by mysterious authors.

The New Testament of today was written in the third century by Constantine and his council. That is why you read things such as:

"...And as Jesus passed forth thence, HE (Jesus) saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and HE (Jesus) saith unto HIM (Matthew), follow ME (Jesus) and HE (Matthew) arose, and followed HIM (Jesus). (Matthew 9:9)"

"And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou? (From the King James Version Bible, John 1:19)"

"John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; (From the King James Version Bible, John 1:26)"

"For John was not yet cast into prison. (From the King James Version Bible, John 3:24)"

    etc.....

Also in the first 4 centuries, Christians mostly and widely believed that Jesus never got crucified. See the proof at:

    http://www.answering-christianity.co...christians.htm

    http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac24.htm#links.

The Disciples' early writings clearly claimed that Jesus never got crucified.

The following links contain details about Constantine, his work in the Bible and history:

    http://www.kenanderson.net/bible/constantine.html
    http://gbgm-umc.org/umw/bible/cea.stm
    http://www.bibleufo.com/anomlostbooks.htm
    http://www.earlychurch.org.uk/constantine.html

The point from this is that when you read "Jesus is the Son of God", please keep in mind that it is quoted from a corrupted book. The Old Testament makes numerous references about "son of God" to many people. As I proved at: http://www.answering-christianity.co...ranslation.htm, the word "son of God" literally means "SERVANT OF GOD" in the original Hebrew.

    Salaam,

    Re: Bible

Insh'allah I will keep my words brief,

Also brothers and sister speak with certainty, if you have doubt it is best not to make statements.

I will just post something, I have heard Christians claim the manuscripts of the Holy Bible have not been changed since Mohamed, peace be upon him, my Holy Bible says that some of the writing inside it is not found BEFORE THE 16th Century, which I do think is after the time of Mohamed, peace be upon him, so if they are not found before, yet found after does it imply someone changed/inserted something??

    http://bibleresources.bible.com/pass...+5&version1=31

    Peace be upon you all

If there are any mistakes then they are from me alone and please correct me, any good derived from this then Alhamdulilah.
