    As-Salaamu 'Alaykum,

Just recently we saw these missionaries get caught (like the koreans in afghanistan) that cried the innocent and victim line, But it is evident that a newcrusade is taking place in the Muslim world.

Fundamentalist Radical Christians declare holy war on Islam

They plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners (Aali Imran 3:54)

O you who believe! Take not for Auliyâ' (protectors and helpers) those who take your religion for a mockery and fun from among those who received the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before you, nor from among the disbelievers; and fear Allâh if you indeed are true believers. (Al-Ma'idah 5:57)

O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand. (Aali Imran 3:118)

Re: Radical Christian Missionaries in Iraq

You know after 9/11 Islam has been the fastest growing religion in the world eventhough it is hateful because of some muslims political purposes.

some may wonder that how can a religion start wining convertion when its hateful around the world?

the answer is with our creator in his miracolous book Al-Quran:

They plan and Allah plans and Allah is the best of planners (Aali Imran 3:54)

Re: Radical Christian Missionaries in Iraq

    Welcome to the great debate!

It is true that fundamentalist Christians are trying to spread their religion but at the same time many of them are only damaging it by being unreasonable. That has led to a movement of people who no longer follow them. Here's one person discussing why they are no longer Christian.

On missionaries, why shouldn't they preach their religion wherever they like? Any muslim would be perfectly free to do so in, say, the UK. Surely faith in Islam isn't so feeble it can't stand a little competition? Can't the argument be won with words, not kidnapping and murder?

Those are the double standards. Muslim clerics, imams and missionaries can preach islam in every western , christian country. But christian missionaries cant do it openly, because it is forbidden by law.

    That is true.

Although we as Muslims should not support the Fundamentalists, we should keep in mind they are even more of a threat to Christianity than they are to us. They are not only out to convert Muslims, they are also out to convert mainstream Christians away from Christianity.

Fundamentalists often have very radical ideas and are very aggressive and zealous in promoting their beliefs. they are very difficult to deal with as they often have their own concept as to what Christianity is and often it is much different than what many non-Christians believe Christianity is. The refutations about Christians often will not make sense to a fundementalist.

As stated above, mainstream Christians fear them just as much as if not more than we do. the mainstream denominations often view them as being destructive and in error.

Wiki appears to describe them reasonably accurate. Here is an excerpt from wiki.

The nature of the Christian fundamentalist movement, while originally a united effort within conservative evangelicalism, evolved during the early-to-mid 1900s to become more separatist in nature and more characteristically dispensational in its theology. Most fundamentalists have strongly opposed the Roman Catholic Church for theological reasons; in recent years there has been limited political cooperation between individuals in each group on certain social issues, such as abortion. However, the relationships between Fundamentalist Christians and Catholics are still often strained due to historical/cultural perceptions and strongly divergent views on a number of theological issues.

Do you know that evangelical movement exists also in Catholic Church? There are evangelical catholics and even evangelical orthodox. Just like evangelical protestants who are so active in US. The major idea of evangelicalism is treating Bible as literal word of God, believing in Christ as the only way to salvation, moral conservatism. Recently i heard that pope Benedict XVI is evangelical catholic.

because in some countries it is illegal. i think some states in india have also outlawed christian missionaries.
i've known hindus who objected very strongly to the missionaries and their tactics. some have huge $ behind them from tv evangelist ministries and will give prospective converts all kinds of goodies.
but the main thing they objected to was that they taught people to look down on their own culture - because of that, they regarded it as not just a religious incursion, but a cultural one as well.

Firstly, UK does not have laws against preaching one faith or the other. 2ndly, no one is taking advantage of poor desperate people and forcing them to convert in return for aide or die out of hunger and poverty. There are many Christian groups in Africa who hate missionaries, even they say that this missionaries don't care about the human value and relief and are ruining it for other non-missionaries Christians who are actually here for real humanitarian reasons, trying to help their fellow humans.

South Korea turns against 'arrogant' Christian hostages

After they were taken hostage, the church's online bulletin board was deluged with negative statements. Many called the missionaries "arrogant" for trying to proselytise in a Muslim country gripped by conflict.

When the group's pastor, Bae Hyung-ku, was killed last week, the hostile messages increased and the church decided to close its site rather than endure what a press release from Bae's family called "more hatred and misunderstanding."

But this did not halt the critics. A news bulletin board at Naver, Korea's leading portal, attracted vicious denunciations. "Yes, let's pray for the hostages' safe return, only to see these missionaries kneel down and apologise to the people for the Protestants' arrogance," wrote a man who described himself as a "humanist teacher."

Whang Sang-min, a psychology professor at the prestigious Yonsei University, said: "There is growing resentment toward Christians. Many Koreans feel oppressed by the power of the church."

During a forum conducted July 11 by the Lutheran World Federation, liberal ecumenical Christian leaders from Hong Kong and mainland China warned against foreign missionary activity. The forum was held during the Lutheran World Federation's general assembly this month in Hong Kong. Since the fall of China to communism in 1949, Hong Kong has been used as a launching pad for missionary activities inside the mainland.
Tso Man-king, general secretary of the Hong Kong Christian Council, warned that "if people try to relate to the church in China without following guidelines and principles, [this] can lead to disasters." The guidelines and principles to which he is referring are those of the liberal ecumenical organizations such as his Christian Council and the China Christian Council on the mainland.

    http://www.wayoflife.org/fbns/liberalchina.htm

From its very beginnings, Christian missionaries have inflicted tremendous harm on the peoples they "witnessed" to.In the past, the damage done by missionaries were shared equally between the Protestant and Catholic churches. Today, most of the damage is done by fundamentalist, pentacostal and evangelical protestant sects, mostly from the US, Canada and Europe. Numbering about 80,000 strong [1] these fundamentalist missionaries spread like locusts throughout the world. Their destruction of native cultures, and in some cases actually causing the deaths of these natives, can only be described as a modern cultural and genocidal holocaust.
