finally.. after a time
two lonely tears
broke free from my eyes
i'd been sitting in a gathering
people laughing and chatting
I remember someone had spoken to me
from the other side of the room
but i wasn't really there
for in that moment in time
my gaze had frozen upon the wall
i wasn't looking at anything
for my eyes had turned to stone
it was you I was thinking
and you I was seeing
a memory had gripped my heart
its cruel fingers clenching hard
until two lonely tears
had escaped my eyes
it had been an age since i'd cried
and still as a statue i stayed
the company, the atmosphere
never took my attention
if anything...
it only heightened your absence
made me miss you more
memories... memories
thank you for leaving those
a distant voice of long ago
echoes through my mind
forever... forever you will live
in a secret place inside
but... but...
this loss i have accepted
as being the will of God
for I know Allah knows best
the Guardian of my heart

My beloved husband lie peacefully and rest
lay your weary head upon my lap
Let the day's stresses melt away
But before you sleep I have something to say
I don't want you to worry about money
What don't we have for this life's journey?
So what if our car is old and rusty?
It gets us from A to B, doesn't it?
Our carpet is threadbare, our sofa has sagged
But look what a wonderful husband I've bagged!
Our wall-paper has faded and peeled away
But our smiles lift the gloom away
Why do you feel bad, when your friends buy
Gold for their wives, their kids the latest toy?
You are my adornment, I don't need gold
More than toys, our kids love playing with you tenfold!
When you overheard my friends talking about clothes
A look of guilt shadowed your face and stole
The smile that is more precious to me than wealth
Truly my treasures are your soundness and health
So please, don't feel sad, for enough have we
Are you still listening or have you fallen asleep? <lol couldnt resist that!
Allah has made me your garment and you mine
You conceal my faults better than all the silk fine
My friends houses are filled but still they moan
Because in some ways, their husbands' let them down
But you have never given me a reason to complain
You've shielded me always, from all kinds of pain
In fact, I really love our life of simplicity
A reminder of how our Prophet (saw) lived humbly
What's more my beloved, is that everything will perish
We already have what we really should cherish
Each other, our children and food on the table
A marriage full of love, happy and stable
Every day with you and our kids is a celebration
Wallahi! With you I could live like a bedouin!
So no more guilt and sadness about our situation
No more pressure and self-condemnation
I'm more than happy in my life with you
Allah is my witness, what I have said is true
No more 12 hours shifts - tomorrow come home early
I miss us reciting Quran together so sourly
We will take the children out to the park
We'll race with them and have a good laugh
I hope my dear husband, your heart feels at ease
I will spend from what you earn and still be pleased
Now sleep my beloved with peace in your heart
And I will wake you for Fajr, to a new start..

ooo, i see
you know, this is quite an interesting thread...it seems that each of the poems in it reflect and are "centered" around a particular chapter in your life...from the first one (or maybe it was the second) to the last one, each poem seems to be a "step" progressing forward, reflecting and revolving around this particular chapter of your life which i don't know what it is exactly but have a feeling of what it might be lol
...desperate for husnul-khitaam...
please make dua that Allah grants me a good end (to my life). please make dua that Allah guides me.
alhumdulillah finally!! That mustve took week i think
From The Palette of Time
(In memory of the Shuhadah)
Frenzied strokes of imagination, paint vivid pictures in my mind
Bright and bold images, blending from the Palette of Time
Depictions of Battles - of swords flashing in the sun
The sweetest hues of anticipation of martyrdom to come.
Pride shades the sorrow on my face as I imagine the scene
When earth was coloured crimson for the sake of the true deen
Is that glow from the sun or the colour of a martyr's blood
Or a rainbow of love and sacrifice, in Islamic brotherhood
And high from the battlefield, rises a crescendo of yells of pain
A Mujahid strikes for the sake of Allah, a Kafir for worldly gain
For women, wealth and status, thus fools for earthly treasures!
Grieved will you be on the Day, for with you died your pleasures!
Ruby strokes bleed sorrow and anger at the Battle of Uhud
When the cursed Abdullah bin Shahaab, broke my Prophet's tooth!
How I wish my tears could fall at the feet of those - in gratitude
Who fiercely fought to defend the Prophet, until martyrdom ensued
O Mothers' of Martyrs silently weeping, how do I paint your heart?
For truly the colour of patience in grief, a picture can never impart
I cannot paint in my mind, their souls in the green birds of Heaven
But know your beloved sons forever, in Allah's shade were taken
One day, I'll let my mind paint again, pictures of Islamic history
The unimaginable stories of sacrifice, the moments of defeat and victory
O Allah, grant us martyrdom - the faithful believers of your Beloved's Ummah
And make us leave like those before – unforgotten examples of Shahadah.
