finally.. after a time
two lonely tears
broke free from my eyes
i'd been sitting in a gathering
people laughing and chatting
I remember someone had spoken to me
from the other side of the room
but i wasn't really there
for in that moment in time
my gaze had frozen upon the wall
i wasn't looking at anything
for my eyes had turned to stone
it was you I was thinking
and you I was seeing
a memory had gripped my heart
its cruel fingers clenching hard
until two lonely tears
had escaped my eyes
it had been an age since i'd cried
and still as a statue i stayed
the company, the atmosphere
never took my attention
if anything...
it only heightened your absence
made me miss you more
memories... memories
thank you for leaving those
a distant voice of long ago
echoes through my mind
forever... forever you will live
in a secret place inside
but... but...
this loss i have accepted
as being the will of God
for I know Allah knows best
the Guardian of my heart
on a fragranced path, through the trees
she runs barefooted like the breeze
delicate pink blossom crush underfoot
softening the sound of the owl's hoot
petals whip up by the silken garb
fingers tighten on her precious hijab
on and on she runs toward the dazzling light
where love would be requited forever tonight
and there beside the shimmering lake
she sees the place where he had prayed
her loving gaze caresses the mark of sujood
where the pleasure of Allah he had pursued
he'd died before she'd become his bride
on their wedding day, he was shrouded in white
no final words, no goodbyes, no nothing
just earth preparing herself for his coming
she knows he'd have wanted her to be strong
to accept what Allah had willed and do no wrong
soft sobs break the still air and she cries
O Allah let us be together in Paradise!
she stands to go.. a determined look upon her face
not noticing her heart has started to race
suddenly she sinks to the ground, so cold and bare
a ghostly mist of breath escapes into the still air
(p.s. jus made minor changes but left interpretation open inshaAllah)

Very deep poems with such excellent imagery! I wanted to pick out which part of the poems I thought were deepest..but I couldn't because all of it is just so profound. Just have to say, please continue to write more and share with us.

^ bro you have no idea how many times i read that second poem
it is soooo amazingly beyond words.... i feel like printing it out and adding it in a private collection in which it may remain the only poem for a long time due to its level of depth :|
