I`ve heard Muslim people saying, that a Muslim woman can`t marry a Christian man, because he can forbid her to pray Muslim prayers.I`m Christian (Protestant) and I want to correct it:this is obviously NOT true,he can`t forbid her to do her own prayers. For two reasons:1.Christian husband has not such a power over his wife,2.a religious discrimination is prohibited in most Christian countries by a law.

There are many reasons why a Muslim woman can't marry a non-Muslim man.
Part of it, is that a Christian man may not agree with all practices of Islam and obviously will have to change his own life a lot in order to comply 100% with the religion of Islam. For instance, if the man drinks, he can't drink at home. When she meets his male friends she's not going to shake their hands (or give them a hug or any other close contact western custom), and for the most part when you socialize with friends things will have to be segregated. You can't have any pictures, statues or crosses with Jesus on them. She's not going to accompany him to church. She's also not going to cook pork and will have to buy only halal meat (although most non-Muslims don't have a problem with this).
Furthermore, a husband is the stronger member of the family, as he is the head of the household. If the wife is neglecting any of her Islamic duties towards Allah or is lax in enforcing Islamic rules and principles with the children or upon herself, then the non-Muslim husband surely isn't going to be reminding her.
I mean, if a man is willingly going to make that many changes to his life and is able to make sure his wife is correctly practicing her religion, then he might as well be a Muslim.

But they are not very difficult things to do from the side of a Christian husband. He may also agree to remind her wife about her religious duties,if his wife expects that from him and asks him to.So,if he agrees to respect his wife`s rights, there`s no reasons to forbid her to marry him.

As I said, these types of things are only part of the reason. He may or may not be adaptive. But I think you're imagining an ideal scenario. In reality I think there would be conflict.
Bottom line is that Islam forbids it. Who are you to challenge the Laws of God?
Re: Christian husband can`t forbid his Muslim wife to pray in her own way.
religion takes a back seat in christian life.. whereas to a Muslim it is a way of life.. I don't think you'd find many Muslim women wanting to marry christian men and prayer is the least of their concern.... that is not to say a Muslim woman can't marry a convert from christianity.
try posing that same question on a Hasidic Jewish forum.. ask them if they marry outside of religion and if it only has to do with prayer.. see the response you get...

I don't see the point of this thread. Is the intent to basically try to ''correct'' Islam? If so, such a thread should not have been approved in the first place because that's when people start using their own ''logic'' instead of what Allaah forbids and allows. Allaah SWT has clearly said that Muslim women cannot marry unbelieving men, but Muslim men can marry Christian or Jewish women. But with conditions. That she must be chaste.
