Greetings to all. My name is Vakasha Brenman; I am currently working on a book entitled The Magical Mythical Unicorn, which elaborates on historic, mythic, and esoteric information regarding the unicorn's presence across the globe since time immemorial.
My question for the forum is are there any mentions of the unicorn (or karkadann, re'em) within the Qu'ran, hadiths, or Islamic practices? I ask because I have seen the unicorn (as the karkadann) referenced in the works of various notable figures of the Islamic world in previous centuries, including: Zakariya al-Qawzini, Ibn Battuta, and Abu Rayhan al-Biruni. Also, in the Old Testament of the Bible, there are nine references to the unicorn (or re'em).
It is my intention to make this book as inclusive as possible, and therefore am grateful for all information or sources provided. Thank you!
