I am From India and i belong to the Hindu Religion. since turning a teenager i have studied various important things such as Geopolitics, History, Culture, Philosophy and Religion. I must say that i had bias against Islam but after studying Islam with broad mind and comparing it with Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism i have to Admit Islam is not only Superior to these religions but also very Closer to the original Indo-Aryan Religion of Vedism from which all Dharmic Religions came out. i have studied all these things and Islam for over a decade now and i think now i am ready to accept Islam as i am semi-Independent in my life as an Adult.
but before i Accept Islam i have Some question to ask, please keep in mind that i have studied just basic Tenants and History of Islamic Empires not the Quaran or the religion.
1) I was born in Brahmin caste, a group of Hindu Priests who are from Indo-Aryan Heritage who have left eating meat thousands of years ago. now i am eating some meat since i was 18 but i still cant consume it daily like other Muslims, i still prefer to eat more veg dishes over non-veg one unless its in fast food. is that okay ?
2) I want to keep my Surname (my username) after conversation as i am very proud of my Ancestry, he is the Founder of my tribe and he was a very strong warrior despite being a priest so he is the ideal for me. also certain beliefs of him are very dear to me, not the religious one.
3) i want to keep studying ancient languages such as latin, Sanskrit and Regions such as my ancestral Vedic Faith, Roman-greek-norse Pagan religion as well, is that okay ?
4) what kind of Diet should i adopt ? whats halal meat and how can i know if things i eat are halal or not ? can i do the prayer and turn a ready meal to halal ?
5) well, circumcision ? According to the Judaism its compulsory so i think being an Abrahamic faith its also necessary in Islam as well.
6) Suggestion : what else i should i Add/Remove from my lifestyle after accepting Islam ?
7) i dont know arabic and how to do prayers properly, can you guys suggest me good Site or App to help me learn Arabic and keep the prayer time in my mind ?
in the end all i want to say it I thank all of you who have helped me in studying Islam since i was a kid. i also want to thank all of my Friends online who will give me answer to my questions in future. I am very thankful to Allah(swt) for showing me the right path and allowing me following one true Faith.
may Allah(swt) bless all those who have helped me in learning about Islam.
one more thing guys i forgot to add, I smoke(2-3 stickes a day) and Drink(once in a week), do i have to stop this or as majority of muslims did in Central Asia and India i can keept doing this ?
I'm also a convert stick around inshaAllah you'll make some great friends here.
1. No harm inshaAllah as long as it's not a religious reason for doing so
2 I don't know
3 languages are fine to learn as for religions brother you'd be better off utilizing that time to study Islam. Trust me you never stop learning
4 basically meat has to be slaughtered islamically for it to be halal. They say a prayer when killing the animal. Certain animals like pigs are forbidden. Vegetables are halal and so are fish. Fish you can eat whatever it doesn't need to be slaughtered islamically
5 circumsicion is a must but dont worry about it yet. Converting to Islam is the main thing you can deal with it later
6 the five daily salah will change your life inshaAllah. Maintain them and inshaAllah everything else will fall into place
7 for Arabic this site is good https://www.madinaharabic.com/
For salah try YouTube
Do you know how to convert?

Alcohol is forbidden in Islam and smoking cigarettes the majority of scholars say it's also forbidden
Just because some muslims do it doesn't make it ok
I believe your questions have been answered insha Allah. Please watch this video on how to pray and what to say.
Pain and hardships allow you to grow spiritually Alhamdulilah so smile when a so called calamity befalls upon you.
Alhamdulilah Allah swt is the greatest.
the more you come here, the more you'll understand the Islamic concepts.. in sha Allah.. brothers are ready to help you anytime. Learn more and think more, just keep it up
I believe others have already answered your question brother. If not, feel free to ask more details.
I would also like to wish you the best. I am someone who considered for close to a full year before finally converting. If I can give you one advice based on my own experience. Do not delay. Once you take the first step, you will already feel better about it. And once the first step is taken, you will be surprised how easy the others things become easy. Even the things that you consider like big changes today will become easy to do once you have accepted Allah's word in your heart and have started your journey.
1. Eating veggies alone is ok, eating meat is ok also. Islam is about moderation and healthy living.
2. You can keep your surname if it does not mean anything bad. Islam encourages good names as the angels will refer to us by those names as they take our soul up into the heavens. So a convert may keep their name so long as it doesn't have bad meaning (like baby killer or womenizer, etc) or a name that contradicts Islamic principles (such as servant/slave of any other god, or god killer or other such names).
3. you can study other languages, it is fine. Seeking knowledge is not bad, but focus more on studying your religion first as that takes higher priority.
4. Diet wise, basically everything not prohibited is allowed and eat in moderation and healty. Check the ingredient labels when you by food to see if it has any animal byproducts, those will often be haram. zabiha (islamically killed) meat is one that has been slaughtered according to islamic guidelines, namely an animal killed in the name of Allah only. Halal meat is one that is either zabiha or one that has been killed by people of the book (jews and christians) if they are religious. It's best to stick with zabiha though. Some arabs believe you can say "bismillah" over non-halal meat and it's halal to eat, that is not true. You cannot do that. Sea animals are halal by default so you don't have to worry about them. Other animals, certain guidelines need be followed. see here on that - https://questionsonislam.com/questio...-are-helal-eat
5. circumcision is the sunnah/tradition of prophet abraham. It has to be done but there is no rush, get yourself comfortable in your religious observance and when you're ready, get it done. With modern medical improvements, it's painless procedure.
6. Learn more about your religion so you would know how to life an islamic lifestyle. Namely the things you will have to change and pay attention to are food, interaction with opposite gender, celebration of holidays, daily prayers. Find a religous brother in your community to help show you the ropes, also ask lots of questions here to help clarify things.
8. smoking is haram as it causes lung cancer and kills you (slowly). You should slowly try to get off of it. Drinking is a major sin, this should given up soon as possible and repent from doing so if you still do it since your shahada. yes, other Muslims do it but they are not adhering to the religion and only increasing their sins, hardly good examples to follow.

Yes this is fine, in fact, Islamically speaking it's actually more appropriate, Rasulullah (peace be upon him) rarely ate meat.

You can keep your name, but it would be preferable for you to change it.
However, one thing I must stress is that you mustn't take an excessive amount of pride in your ancestry/tribe, this is considered haram. You can be proud about the good things they may have done, but you must also disdain them for any sins they may have committed (provided such sins were committed with full knowledge that they were sins, rather than out of ignorance) and you mustn't think that your ancestry/tribe makes you better than someone else.

Not a problem.

You can only study other religions besides Islam in order to refute them, not just for fun. You can still learn about the history of said religions though (e.g how they spread, where they came from, etc), you just can't read their teachings for any reason other than to refute them.

Your diet is simple, eat/drink what is halal, don't eat/drink what is haram. You probably won't know what is halal and what is haram, so you'll need to research that for yourself. I'd recommend this forum for such details as well as these websites (they're good for general queries as well):
Also, please remember, in Islam, there is a wide spectrum of opinions on minor matters such as these, follow whichever one you believe has the best evidence backing it.

Hahaha, yes, I'm afraid it's mandatory. Don't worry though, you can usually request anaesthesia before the procedure takes place.

There's probably going to be quite a bit I'm afraid, just use the websites I provided and listen to lectures by people knowledgeable in Islam (you're Indian so Zakir Naik is probably a good start, I'd also recommend Abdur Raheem Green, Yusha Evans, Yusef Estes and Yasir Qadhi). Be sure to also read Islamic books, many of them can be downloaded for free (in English) on this website:
Just remember to take things slowly, and make adjustments step by step. Islam wasn't revealed in a day, and you are not expected to follow every teaching to the letter in a day either.

Honestly, nothing can substitute a teacher in this matter (in my opinion). You live in India, so it shouldn't be too hard to find a Muslim to teach you, just make sure he's a Deobandi or someone who considers himself part of Ahle Hadith (don't accept anyone else as a teacher). If you really struggle to find one, try and get a Skype Tutor or use the resources provided on this website.

Some consider smoking haram, others consider it makruh (that means disliked, but not forbidden). Either way, it's VERY bad for you so it's a good idea to try and stop smoking.
As for drinking, that's totally haram, you have to somehow remove it from your life permanently (but again, this doesn't have to be immediate).
In order for you to convert, you must declare the shahadah, which is where you repeat what is in this video:
Its very nice to hear that you had revealed the truth, may ALLAH guide, me , you and all of us to the true path
Here we are not a scholars but will try to answer to the best of knowledge Allah has given us.

Brother, meat is not a must, if you did not like it , you can never have meat in your life. Just donot say bad thing about meat you donot like as some other might like it.
And keep eating veg all your life.

If name has nothing bad meaning then to the best of my knowledge you can keep it.

what kind of Diet should i adopt ? whats halal meat and how can i know if things i eat are halal or not ? can i do the prayer and turn a ready meal to halal ?
Well, all vegetabel are allowed unless it wont harm your body or something poisness etc, as you did not like meat so i think its easy to eat all vegs
well, circumcision ? According to the Judaism its compulsory so i think being an Abrahamic faith its also necessary in Islam as well.
what else i should i Add/Remove from my lifestyle after accepting Islam ?
Brother, just try to remove bad things and do good
i dont know arabic and how to do prayers properly, can you guys suggest me good Site or App to help me learn Arabic and keep the prayer time in my mind ?
Brother, it will take little time to learn but its easy so once you start after few time you can in shah ALLAH learn it easily. You are learning so many languages so i think learning arabic will be good too for you.
Yes, for smoking and wine, both are bad things so my suggestion, once you start praying and once you commited to leave those as these are bad for health too, then meet your doctor and try to consult i think in shah ALLAH few months you can abel to avoid it.
