    The Hijaab

    Report bad ads?

    ASSALAAMOUA’LAIKOUM

    [BANANA][/BANANA]The Hijaab.
    As said, here are some virtues of the Hijaab;

    Firstly, wearing the Hijaab is an Act of Obedience
    As said in the Holy Qur’an:
    “…tell the believing women not to look at forbidden things & protect their private parts from illegal sexual acts & not to show off their adornment except what must ordinarily appear…” [Adapted from Surah 24:31(part)]

    So, as a True Muslim, we must obey ALLAH (s.w.t) & His Messenger (peace be upon him) only.
    Why don’t you wear the Hijaab then?
    Is it bcoz your parents have not ordered you to do so?
    OR IS IT BCOZ PEOPLE WON’T SEE YOUR BEAUTY?

    Secondly, the Hijaab is Iffah {Modesty}
    Allah (s.w.t) made the adherence to the Hijaab a manifestation for chastity & modesty.
    As ALLAH says:
    “O Prophet! Tell your wives & daughters & the women of the believers to cover their bodies when outdoors…” [Adapted from Surah 33:59(part)]

    Man can easily be tempted by [MAD]your beauty.
    So, having the Hijaab on, it’s having you far away from molestation
    Now it’s up to you!!!
    [/MAD]
    Don’t wait for too long or it can be too late!!!
    GET BACK ON THE RIGHT TRACK.[S][/S]
    As a Muslim, we must show people how perfect our DEEN is, by practicing it.

    Inshaa Allah in the next edition we’ll come with more virtues of the Hijaab. If there’s anything that’s not clear, just let us know.
    Please pass this to all your Sisters in Islam.

    Does one start practicing her DEEN by wearing hijab?

    Or making salat?

    Re: The Hijaab

    Well, salaat is the first thing to do before all things.. so obviously salaat most important than wearing the Hijaab.. nevertheless, wearing the Hijaab forms also part of the DEEN as women must hide his beauty from strangers..

    May Allah (s.w.t.) forgives me if i erred.. Allah knows best..

    The Hijaab 2

    ASSALAAMOUA’LAIKOUM

    By Allah’s grace here we are for the 3rd Edition on Hijaab.
    And we are continuing with some more virtues of the Hijaab;
    Wearing the Hijaab is a Shield for it prevents us from doing forbidden things. A woman can show her beauty just to the husband.

    The Hijaab is Taqwah {Righteousness};
    Allah says in the Qur’an:
    “O children of Adam! We have bestowed clothing upon you to cover your private parts……” [Adapted from Surah 7:26(part)]

    But today dresses of all types are widely spread and are mostly to show off the body!!!

    To the Believing Woman, as ordered by Allah, the purpose is to cover and hide the private parts from lustful eyes.

    The Hijaab is also Imaan {Belief/Faith}.
    There are several places in the Qur’an where Allah refers to ‘the believing women’.
    Meaning that believing women must wear the Hijaab.
    Aisha (R.A), wife of the Prophet (pbuh), addressed to some women who came to see her.
    They were improperly dressed & Aisha (R.A) said: “If indeed you are believing women, then truly this is not the dress of the believing women, and if you are not believing women, then enjoy it.”

    So as a believing woman, don’t you think that it’s a must not to reveal your beauty to strangers?
    What are you waiting for?
    If you want to be the winner in the end, then do what the Lord ordered you to do!!!
    Wear the Hijaab for your own benefit.

    Re: The Hijaab

    It's a no-brainer really. If you believe, establish salat. Then pay zakat. Modesty is tied to faith and the hijab is about modesty and faith--more so than worship. If someone is failing in her connection with Allah swt the repair comes from worship, it comes from salat--which is a pillar of the deen, holding it up. Wearing hijab does not make a better Muslim but salat does. So like I said, it's a no-brainer.

    Iman and Islam are different. Your post ties hijab to Islam by calling it obedience. Though in reality, there are other commands to obey which are vastly greater in importance than hijab--the pillars among them, but also kindness to parents and good conduct. Then your post tied hijab to Iman by calling it modesty, because modesty is part of faith. This is a much stronger relationship.

    So, first the hijab is modesty and that is part of faith. Without faith and without modesty there is no hijab, so that must come first.

    Well, its true that other things comes.. Actually in my country there's big problem with girls. They not learning this Deen Islam and there attitudes in society is too bad to be mentioned. So, some friends and i decided to take some actions which may help in making our Muslim Sisters return on the right track. And if we can get some help from anyone, it's welcome.

    May Allah helps me and we all to maintain this Deen of his till our last breath. AMEEN.

    I think in order to believe in Allah swt and especially when ur preying u need to be wearing a hijab or something that covers ur & head & body... and doesn't say in the quran that ladies who dress like man and man who dress like ladys will go hell.. (might be wrong but i know that am right kay: i saw it some where and it was been told to me befor. &
    hello it's a known fact that if ur a muslim lady u should dress like one am not telling u to but on a burka (i dont have an issue with it ) or anything thats mind blowing but just cover ur body and dont let the jin divert u from the path to Allah And heaven. If i sound mad am not I'm just sleepy.
    ANd this world is just a test we'll leave it soon and what u come with in Akira is what counts so dont indulge urself in the worldly contents and live life with the fact that u will be judged by Allah SWT.

    Re: The Hijaab

    A Muslim woman tried to explain to me why she does NOT wear the hijab. She says that it is not actually in the Qur'an. That rather it tells you to cover certain parts of your body, but it does not say to cover the hair. Anyone else have heard this sort of things before? And what does the Qur'an actually say? Is it an interpretation that leads people to choose the hijab based on what is understood to be implied by the Qur'an? Or is it explicitly stated some place?

    Hi Grace Seeker,

    I've heard this before- only from ignorant people though, never from scholars. The scholars of Islam are agreed that a women must cover her whole body except for certain parts (the only parts that they debate about are the hands, feet and face). For all other body parts they are agreed that they must be covered. Furthermore, consensus amongst the scholars of Islam is it self a proof that what they have agreed on is the truth*.

    What this woman, and many other people, also fails to understand is that the Quran is not the only place where Muslims derive their law! The hadith are also a source of Islamic law- such that in many places where the Quran mentions something only in general terms, the hadiths provide us with the specific. Such is the case with hijab- the Quran gives the general idea to cover up, but it doesn't say you must cover XYZ body part- for that, you need to look it up in the hadiths.

    *This is because the Prophet pbuh said that there will always be a group of people amongst the Muslims who are upon the truth, meaning that they will have the correct rulings. We don't know who they are, but if all the scholars of Islam agree on something, that means that group also has that opinion, and therefore while e don't know who the people are, we know what heir opinion is, and so we know what the correct opinion is.

    Re: The Hijaab

    While I agree with everything that is said here, I have to say that molesters don't care how "covered up" you are. They will not care to look for which on is more or less covered up. They will go for the first one they see.
    So the hijab shouldn't be considered a way to protect yourself from being molested. Cause it isn't.

    I know it says not to debate in here, but I'm just saying that there should be better reasons posted as to why the hijab should be worn. The other reasons are great, just this one should have been thought about before being posted.

    Re: The Hijaab

    Coming from a western culture where women walk around as naked as they can get by with, I very much appreciate the modesty of Muslim women. Frankly, the only reason to go uncovered is to display your beauty and the only reason to dress provocatively (as women commonly do in the west) is to provoke sexual desire in whatever male happens to come within eyesight of you. I so much appreciate the thoughtfulness of women who don't need or want to elicit sexual arousal in any other man except their own husband. And there are many men who don't want to see any woman's uncovered body other than their wives.

    In the west that's impossible. You can't even turn on the TV or drive down the block without seeing MUCH more than a woman's hair... It's really offensive to me. And it was offensive to me long before I ever thought of becoming Muslim. I used to wonder why college students would come to class with... well, you know what it's like -- these women literally have to shave their body hair to wear the clothes they do.

    I hope I some day gain the strength to wear hijab. Right now I wear it sometimes at home, just practicing. And I have some scarves that I wear around my head to go out when it's cold. But I haven't had the courage yet to go out in public in hijab. But then, nobody even knows I'm making this transition!

    They just think I wear salwar kameez and jilbab because it's pretty and different.

    I'm so glad Allah is teaching me a guiding me. I know he'll help make the way easy.

    Inshalla... (did I say that right?)
