I just wanted to bring everybody’s attention to the MSc in Islamic Finance that is being held by Aston University in Birmingham inshallah.
Islamic finance is a fast developing industry in the UK, in which Aston Business School is leading with this new postgraduate degree programme.
As the second largest city in the UK, Birmingham is already providing an international centre of excellence for the growing Islamic financial and legal services.
With the collapse of the conventional banking system, businesses have turned to the more conservative Islamic finance approach, which does not allow the sale of debts or interest and encourages the sharing of risks and rewards.
After a successful first year, the course is looking to invite a number of students from different disciplines to come and learn about and get involved in this rapidly growing industry.
This programme has been developed to meet the growing interest in Shariah-compliant finance across the world. Mainstream financial institutions can learn from Islamic finance principles in their recovery from and avoidance of global economic crises.
