Fortunatly Malaria has never been a major problem in the US. There never were many cases, and those were contracted by people who had gone to other countries.
Although up until the early 1900s yellow fever was a problem in some of the southern states. Mosquito spraying and swamp drainage has essentialy eliminated that.
The climate in the US is not suitable for the anophelines mosquito, the most common transmitter of malaria. There has never been a known case of Malaria contracted here.
