Assalamu alaikum. I was just wondering what grades you all are in, if still in school, or if your in college. I am in the 8th grade....want to go to med school REALLY badly, getting college credit. Alhamdulla. Pray for me to be a doctor
25:36 And the true servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk the earth with humility and when the ignorant address them, they respond with words of peace.
If you are here in the USA, what you want to do at this point is check into colleges and find out which ones have pre-med programs. Then try to find the med school acceptance rate of the different colleges. Off hand the top school I can think of is: Centenary College of Louisiana with nearly a 90% acceptance rate.
the qualifications to enroll in the pre-med program are very strict and only about 10% of the applicants are accepted. So using that as a guide, what you want to do is check out the qualifications for the pre-med program and spend your next four years concentrating on subjects that will increase your performance in those areas. But, also concentrate nearly 1/3 of your studies on the humanities and arts. Most med schools want an applicant that is well rounded and has at least functional apptitude in other areas.
Now that you got into college. For the first year your mentor, adviser, etc will help you develop your curriculum. For the next three years you will be writing your own for submission provided it meets the approval of your advisor. In your senior year you will be faced with taking the MCAT. I would strongly urge you to take both the MCAT and the GRE. This will allow you the opportunity to pursue either a Ph.D or an MD depending on how your interest form.
Now as far as what grade I am in, I retired as a psychologist 17 years ago. Then became a farmer. I figure it took me 50 years to become a farmer and all this time I thought I wanted to be a Psychologist.
im a senior but am taking my bio lab classes at the local college...i wanna go to medical school too....after my undergraduate years, im transfering to hopkins......(that's in USA)...if you're in US, you should think about Sophie Davis...
gaah i dont understand the american grade system?
what grade would you be in if youre old but still not graduated from high school?
Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one calling to Faith: 'Believe in your Lord,' and we have believed.
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and expiate from us our evil deeds, and make us die (in the state of righteousness) along with Al-Abrar
I would like to ad in most states the public school system is not required to keep a student beyond the age of 18 and if a student is not a Senior by the age of 18, the school has the right to drop them. However, many states will keep a student until the age of 21 if they show potential of graduating at that age.
Some drop outs do graduate at a later age on their own through various GED programs.
