Some parents at a Compton elementary school said they were uncomfortable with a well-known former porn actress reading to their children as part of a classroom education program.
Sasha Grey, a one-time adult-film star who more recently appeared in such mainstream shows as HBO's "Entourage," was photographed reading to young children at Emerson Elementary School.
She later tweeted that she participated in "Read Across America Compton."
The Compton Unified School District, however, released a statement saying they had no record that Grey participated, according to KTLA News.
KTLA quoted several parents questioning whether having Grey at the school was appropriate.
"They could not find a fireman or a police officer?" asked parent Dudley Wheaton. "They had to get a porn star?"
Added Mahdi Ali: "It's definitely a big concern."
i couldnt believe this when i read this!! how could this happened? im glad they make a big deal of this!

Sasha Grey ? Oohh, an American actress who played as "Sasha" in in Indonesian horror movie "Pocong mati goyang pinggul", released on April 2011. Not porn movie, but 'hot'.
No wonder if those kids parents were objected when they knew, Sasha was in their kids classroom. Sasha is former porn star, but she just retire, not repent and back to the right way. If Sasha has repent and turn into good woman, might be those parents could accept her presence in their kids classroom.

Salaam,
I never even heard of her. If she left the industry and not promoting it, I suppose I take no issue with it. I'd giver her a second chance.
I was looking at myself talking to myself and I realized this conversation...I was having with myself looking at myself was a conversation with myself that I needed to have with myself.

Former Porn Star Sasha Grey Refuses to Back Out of Elementary School Reading Program
Former porn star Sasha Grey says she will not withdraw from an elementary school reading program despite outcry from angry parents, according to a report from TMZ.
Earlier Friday, news broke that a Los Angeles area elementary school is facing some major criticism from parents after the district invited Grey to read to a group of first graders as part of the Read Across America program.
"I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent," she said in a statement.
"I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am.
"I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives."
TMZ obtained photos of Grey reading to the children at Emerson Elementary School in Compton on November 2 as part of Read Across America.
Grey also tweeted about the experience, gushing that the students were the “sweetest.”
Still she dont think this defines "who she is"?And she thinks she is fit to teach kids?Teachers are the builders of generations and their character is really important. If she repent, she is more than welcome but keeping this attitude,i dont think such a person deserves to try this noble profession but lets see which society we are in and what are our moral values.

Surely there are better equipped candidates to 'educate the kids', why did the school allow her to read to the kids, her of all people?
All it takes is one Kid to find out who she is, one search on the internet and a child's mind and soul can be destroyed so i think its a fairly big issue! Filth like this woman (Can i even call her that?) shouldn't be anywhere near a child's classroom..She made her bed and she can lie in it (Excuse the pun)

Why not her of all people? If she has kids of her own would you ban her from reading to them? or is it just these particular kids she can't read to?

1) How likely is it that a kid who can't even read would be able to search for her on the Internet?
2) If a kid searched the Internet for her, wouldn't it be the parents fault for letting a child use the Internet unattended? I'm sure there are worse things on the net they could search for.
3) Sasha Grey is her adult stage name, I doubt she would introduce herself by that name to people she knew or taught.

So once someone does something bad they are no longer allowed to do good things? Interesting outlook...
Re: Former porn star's role in school's reading program upsets parents
I think people can repent all they want and it is good & nice but I wouldn't want my child read to by someone who was a former porn star.. What's her claim to fame? When you bring a 'special guest' to the classroom said guest should have a talent and be a positive role model to the kids.. and that model behavior shouldn't involve taking her clothes off for money.. what message exactly is being sent out?

I agree with the parents, they should not let her teach infront of the classroom. A bad role model teacher for the children. And she is not changed, i don't know why the school chose her tough... and what kind of eductional program is it?

I couldn't care less if she read to her own kids (Not my business) but i wouldn't want someone like her to read to my kids (Which would be my business!)

I'm sure you've heard of the saying 'Prevention is better then cure'? Well it applies in this case.
I'm sure there are worse things on the net they could search for.
