“Among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, in order to have tranquility with them and He put love and mercy between your (hearts) : verily in that are signs for those who reflect.” [30:21]
Narrated 'Aisha:
Once Hala bint Khuwailid, Khadija's sister, asked the permission of the Prophet to enter. On that, the Prophet remembered the way Khadija used to ask permission, and he was overwhelmed with emotion. He said, "O Allah! Hala!"

'A'isha reported:
Never did I feel jealous of the wives of Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) but in case of Khadija, although I did no, (have the privilege to) see her. She further added that whenever Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) slaughtered a sheep, he said: Send it to the companions of Khadija I annoyed him one day and said: (It is) Khadija only who always prevails upon your mind. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Her love had been nurtured in my heart by Allah Himself.

I fully appreciate the naseehah. Now let’s discuss the other side of marriage. The dark side. If embraced fully and properly, will truly lead to a happy marriage.
You’re married and slowly the rose-tinted glasses are coming off and the honeymoon period is dying away and a new era, the true dawn, is on the horizon. You’re now beginning to realise that you’re stuck with the extremely round and pink pimples, toxic farts and incessant snoring of your spouse (yes - this is to both genders). The in-laws are grouchy and needy and there’s hair everywhere on the bed in the morning (you don’t own a cat). Worst of all, you can’t stand the arguments over every litttle thing that happens in your lives.
Life doesn’t look like it’s going to ever go back to the Romeo and Juliet period. What do you do?
And verily for everything that a slave loses there is a substitute, but the one who loses Allah will never find anything to replace Him.” [Related by Ibn al-Qayyim in ad-Dâ' wad-Dawâ Fasl 49]
