Eid Greetings of the Sahaba (Companions of the Holy Prophet SAWS):
Al-Hafidh Ibn Hajr Al-Asqalani (rahimahullah) said:“We have related in “Mahaamiliyaat” with a chain of narration that is authentic (hasan), from Jabyr ibn Nufayr who said: ‘When the companions of Allah’s Messenger (sulAllahu alaihi wa salaam) met on the day of ‘Eid, they would say to each other,
تَقَبَّلَ اللهُ مِنَّا وَمِنكُم
‘Taqaballahu minna wa minkum
(may Allah accept from you and us ).”
[Al Mahamiliyyat; hasan isnad; see Fath ul Bari 2:446]
Ibn Qudaamah mentioned in al-Mughnee (2/259) that Muhammad ibn Ziyad said: I was with Abu Umamah al Bahili (rahimahullah) and some other companions of the Prophet (sulAllahu alaihi wa salaam). When they returned from the eid, they said to each other, ‘Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum (May Allah accept it from you and us).”
La ilaha illa Allah Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar wa li-illahi al-hamd
“Ya Allah, thank you for our food and new clothing.
Open our hearts towards our neighbors and help us be kind.
Ya Allah, open the hearts of our neighbors towards us.
Ya Allah, unite the Muslims in the world to serve Allah’s creation to please Him.
Ya Allah, give Sabr (patience) and freedom to the innocent prisoners and guide those who are at fault.
Ya Allah, forgive us for our mistakes and have mercy on us.”
May your Eid be full with blessings for you and your loved ones.
(Allah is Great . Allah is Great . There is no god save Allah. And Allah is Great. Allah is Great. (All) praise be to Allah. (We) sing the praises of Allah because He has shown us the Right Path. (We) gratefully thank Him because He takes care of us and looks after our interests.)ALLAAHU AKBAR ALLAAHU AKBAR LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH WALLAAHU AKBAR ALLAAHU AKBAR WA LILLAAHIL H’AMDUL H’AMDU LILLAAH A’LAA MAA HADAA NAA WA LAHUSH SHUKRU A’LAA MAA AWLAAANAA
