Chinese authorities have ordered Muslim shopkeepers and restaurant owners in a village in its troubled Xinjiang region to sell alcohol and cigarettes, and promote them in “eye-catching displays,” in an attempt to undermine Islam’s hold on local residents,
Radio Free Asia (RFA) reported. Establishments that failed to comply were threatened with closure and their owners with prosecution.

They are causing "corruptions in the land" enemies of Islam.

I see the times we live in like a book turning page by page. Surah al Kahf 83-99 come to mind.

    Re: China Bans Ramadhan?

Wow Subhan Allah what's the worst penalty for fasting there?

A quote comes to mind "A world where women get paid for being naked and fined for being covered up".

Now if we use this quote in this situation. "A world where people get fined for being hungry, and paid for eating (ie, food contests, food critic job)". Very silly indeed!

According to Shaykh Adnan Kabbani the muslims are being punished for the sins they have commited. 99% of muslims will face this before the advent of Mahdi (as). It was either Allah's wrath or worldly punishment... So Prophet Muhammad chose the latter. Allah knows best

Is it fair to use questions of Al Ghaib to rationalize an oppression for which there is absolutely no excuse?
Allah knows best what happens and why, however it is our task to try to understand events and learn the best from them.
What would you say if someone harmed you and your family or loved ones without any right or reason and people around you just walked about practising throwing dry roasted peanuts in their mouths and nonchalantly saying, "hey, it's Allah's punishment"?

Please brother, consider, when Shah Jalal ad Din Al Yemeni (ra) heard that Burhanuddin's hands were chopped off for lawfully slaughtering a cow, he didn't nonchalantly claim that it was the punishment of Allah or a purification of sins.......he took his boys down to Sylhet and established the Law of Allah to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, in derogation of whom None has the right to legislate.

Why cover our impotence and helplessness with false rationale?

If you can find a reasonable excuse for the act according to the universal law of Allah (Islam, Quran, Sunnah) please do so.
Otherwise prevent the evil with your hand, tongue, or heart.

    :And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah;
but when he is persecuted for the sake of Allah, he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah.
And if there comes help from thy Lord, they will say: Surely we were with you.
Is not Allah the Best Knower of what is in the hearts of mankind?

    Quran, The Spider, 29:10
8.*And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!

-9.*Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things.

10.*Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire.

11.*For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires),

12.*Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord.

13.*It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life).
14.*And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness,
15.*Lord of the Throne of Glory,
16.*Doer (without let) of all that He intends.
17.*Has the story reached thee, of the forces
    -18.*Of Pharaoh and the Thamud?
19.*And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)!
20.*But Allah doth encompass them from behind!
    21.*Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an,
    22.*(Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved!

    Quran Al Buruj, Chapter 85
O Allah, to those of us to whom you have given the ability and from whom you expect action by physical force, please chastise us until we stand, though we hope to be able to establish Your Way with ease and not difficulty and not to be made a trial for the ungrateful.
and for those who are weak and incapable (you know best) amongst us, please show your strong hand and assist us, let your jealousy be roused, why should the heedless criminals mock and ask, "where is their God?"
O Allah please make the government of China realise the folly of their actions, and please let them be certain that it is unwise to harm your servants who turn to you.

"Our Lord! Make us not a (test and) trial for the Unbelievers, but forgive us, our Lord! for Thou art the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
    Quran Chapter 60

Would they punish you for fasting or they just ordered the restaurants to remin open and the beers sold as usual?

I hope this does not set a precedence for other countries. The veil was banned (or they were in the process of banning it) in France and every other country tried jumping on board.

And as usual, if it's against Muslims or Islam, it's OK, because it's freedom of speech, but any other religion or faith, and it's a no no!

    Re: China Bans Ramadhan?

China is anti religious and authoritarian, so it stands to reason what they are doing. They are afraid of any deities that can lead the people away from the all powerful State. They are Marxists that somehow became seduced by capitalism and private enterprise so why not leave Muslims alone? Maybe it is fear, as Genghis Khan (a pagan) used Islam to maintain order when he conquered China. A better way would be if China restored it's old religion and dynasties and threw their Marx books in the fire. Marxism doesn't work, God king and country, that's the right way.
