I want to ask your opinions on social networking websites, i.e. Bebo, MySpace etc. For those of you who don't know what they are, they are sites where you can put a profile up of yourself and post up pictures, blogs and friends can comment on eachothers profiles.
Personally I try to stay away from them.

Should I seek a source of law other than God, when it is He Who has sent down unto you the Book (Qur'an) fully explained? And those whom We have given them the Book know that it has been sent down from the Lord with truth, so be not of those in doubt.

1) If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it
2) If you don't ask, the answer will always be no.
3) If you do not step forward, you'll always be in the same place

And as for the onewho fears standing in front of His Lord and restrainsthe soul from impure evil desires and lusts, verily, Paradise will be his abode [79:40-41]
they are all waste of time and yet are very popular, even among the Muslims, so much as that there's muslim versions of social websites as well like mymuslimpage, facebook4muslims and hence forth.

Personally, I don't choose social websites like those is because it's just a bunch of gossip and a waste of time.
Each breath not taken for Allah will be a cause of regret on the Day we stand before Him, let us take our time and strivings into account, A wise man once said: "I know none who has heard of Paradise and Hell, then spends an hour of his life without praying, remembering Allah or doing a good deed." A man said: "I weep so much." He said to him: "To laugh and admit your sins is better than to weep and feel proud of your deeds." The man said: "I need your advice." He said: "Abandon the life of this world to its people as they have abandoned the Hereafter to its people."
aw subhanallah nice to see all the muslims that have voted think its a a waste of time/bad. its really popular in here even within muslims.

I'm a muslim and I personally think it's okay. Partly because I use facebook and the people who are in my friends are actually those I know in person and sisters from the forum. None of my contacts are male. I never accept their invitation because I know it'll lead to fitnah. The good thing about it is that I can still keep in contact with my friends whom I haven't seen in the past 3 years and I don't think I'm likely to see them any time soon.
Basicly, it's good so long as you keep yourself away from fitnah. Just as msn... real life even.

Tis exactly what I was gonna say, oh wise one!
"...You are my Walî in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous." [Surah Yusuf 101]
haha I have like a myspace and a facebook...
I just use it to talk to my friends and cousins
I don't let it take over me.
I want to see what's going on that's all....
