Allahu akbar!
Even after 80 years of stalinist state, Islam still survives in Russia.
And there's one thing I'd like to know: the life expectancy differences between muslims and non-muslims in Russia.
They merely:
Veiled themselves and didn't flaunt it
Sought forgiveness and didn't persist
Took ownership of it and don't justify it
And acted with excellence after they had erred - Ibn al-Qayyim

Just wanted to add to this thread a pic from Eid ul Adhaa this year, of Russian Muslims praying outside St. Petersburg's mosque during the first day of the Eid al-Adha (Kurban Bairam) on November 6, 2011. (Olga Maltseva/AFP/Getty Images). I'm not sure if it's Salaat ul Eid though, as it looks a bit dark. But it looks like a scene you'd expect to see in a Muslim country, maasha'Allah:

This is a clear message for mankind in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is only One God, and that those of understanding may take heed (14:52)
