I was reading today about Iraqi Marshes and didn't even know they existed.. I didn't know much about Socotra or even Afghanistan or Syria .. we're often used to seeing the images projected by the media.. obviously hooligan Muslims in primitive like societies .. so I was thinking everyone would post pictures of their home country, their ancestral country of the things that wouldn't be readily known to people.. i.e if you are from Egypt post something other than the pyramids to showcase its beauty and architectural facets and areas of interest for those who have never seen it.. Also if you've just visited a place, say you're from the U.A.E and visited Oman then I'd appreciate that as well.. Jazakoum Allah khyran..
here are some of the Iraqi Marsh lands I saw today:

^talking bout rickshaws, I'm sad to see the diminishing use of tangas. They may not be the fast, but they're great to look at and fully air conditioned lol
So much colour and fun - especially when you have to hold on for dear life on the
slippery plastic covered back seat lol. And the sound of the horses hoofs
when it canters is so therapeutic, especially on balmy summer evenings. Ahhh miss this...
Must include trucks. A truckers pride and joy - awesome to look at on the outside
and the inside...
The detail is amazing
Just WOW! The first time I saw a group of trucks form afar. I thought it was funfair.
just makes you smile...
Even the rickshaw didn't escape from Pakistani's love of all things bright and colourful
then let me say you never have been to clifton, gulshan, sadder, johar, north and new karachi, nazimabad etc etc etc...
i've been to clifton n saddar neva saw them there...
i rarely go to north or new karachi, actually we go on eid only cuz my parents relatives live there
and i've neva been to johar
thts y im really bad at ways

In rural Pakistan, cooking is mainly done outdoors. I love it. Sadly, more and more people now have kitchens and the old way of life is slowly but surely dying out. I hope I can visit Pakistan this year and photograph such places before they vanish forever.
Girl churning butter.
My aunty's husband was a farmer and they had fresh milk and butter every morning. I remember her churning
it and then she's cook chapattis and put a huge dollop of buttermilk (makkhan) on it for me. I can still remember the taste.
I went to school for a few months in Pakistan when we went on holiday. We used to go on a tangaa. One day the guy was whipping it so hard that it slipped and almost fell down a steep hill. I was petrified. The poor horse was old and going blind
Nice pics bro, when i was young i was always fascinated by volcanoes, i remember around 7/8 years ago that i started browsing google earth only for these kind of things i even wrote down the names. Bromo is a very famous volcano in Indonesia just like the Merapi.
Pics from my country:
(Ajax stadion in amsterdam)
City where i live nearby(Alkmaar), very famous and some houses even date from few hundred years back. Anyone who has been in Amsterdam would remember such scenes.
Tullips even though they are turkish they are massively grown here
Amsterdam
Also made in amsterdam most likely made in the south or center.
Mills in Holland very famous
Rotterdam harbor, one of the biggest in the world, atleast in the top 10.

I will not calm down until I will put one cheek of a tyrant on the ground and the other under my feet, and for the poor and weak, I will put my cheek on the ground. - Umar ibn khattab(Ra)
Old man ask a Dutch boy
"Can you mention letters in alphabet ?"
"Yes, I can. ABCDEFGHIJNOPQRSTUVWXYZ.
"That's incomplete. Where are the KLM ?"
"Fly everywhere in the world !"
Nice pics, bro. Thank you very much. In Indonesia we call Holland as "land of windmill".
By the way, pictures from Holland remind me to my grandpa and grandma from my mother side, they spoke Dutch fluently. Indonesia formerly "Dutch East Indie", a colony of Dutch, remember?.
