Masjid in Indonesia are not sectarian.

"pacaran" means b/f relationship. What's written in that sign is prohibition for youth to date with their girlfriend/boyfriend on masjid yard. Yeah, there's always youth like this in indonesia.

    Masjid Atta'awun, Puncak, West Java

A mosque in the area of tea plantations of Puncak, Bogor regency, in route of Jakarta - Bandung via Puncak (peak). Masjid Atta'awun can be called a "traveler mosque" because most of the people who prayed at this mosque are those who are on their way.

There are two floors to perform salah. The first floor for men, the second floor for women. One masjid where I've ever visited.

    Re: Mosques in Indonesia

Islamic Center of Pasir Pengaraian, Rokan Hulu, Riau
    Part 3 of 3

Subhan Allah, the beauty of liability of prayer in congregation in Rokan Hulu regency

By: Muhammad Nuh (translated by Ardianto)

This is probably the regency that very represent religiosity of Indonesian society. Imagine, the regent and his deputy agreed to issue a policy of obligatory prayers in congregation for civil servants and the temporary employee Rokan Hulu regency, Riau. Especially Dhuhr and Asr prayers in congregation.

Regent of Rokan Hulu or Rohul, Drs. H. Achmad M.Si confirms that the obligation prayers in congregation is a form of government concern in the Muslim pilgrimage, especially prayer. "From this prayer, In Sha Allah, there will be prevention in every individual from shameful and unjust deeds," said the regent told reporters.

Liability prayers in congregation, which began 25 April 2011 was conducted simultaneously in the Rohul regency government. Prayer in congregation performed centrally at the Grand Mosque Islamic Center Pasir Pengaraian. This event directly led by the regent and his deputy.

Policy rule has been announced to the whole range of local government. Every 11:30 AM, all government activities rested, for the implementation of the prayer in congregation. Each employee both men and women, especially those not being hindered, dressed all in white. All-white dress has also been provided by local government officials to private ownership.

After Dhuhr prayer in congregation, the leaders in turn deliver lectures Kultum or seven minutes lecture. "In Sha Allah, then will be forged strong unity, high awareness, togetherness reliable and steadfast family and togetherness," said Regent that supported by Ulema Council of Riau.

All employees will be back on the move in the regency at 02.00 PM. And at 03:30 PM, they returned pray Asr in congregation. Regent asserted,'' If you do not agree with this policy, I would recommend to duty outside in Rokan Hulu. I encourage employees to perform prayers, since prayer is the key to everything. Especially because prayer in congregation is very large reward of the prayer itself. I am responsible to Allah, if I sinned, I ready to receive! "

To reinforce this noble policy, Regent issued a policy of cutting transport allowance for employees who three times in a row for a month does not perform prayers in congregation. Pieces were not kidding, one hundred percent.

Accordingly, the mosque has provided tools attendance through fingerprints electronically so that employees are not truant or lie during the implementation of the prayer in congregation.

Regent of area that known as "the land of thousand suluk(tasawuf)" is believed that changes in the mentality of government officials require improvement of the worship. And one of them through this prayer in congregation.

If all over Indonesia to follow this policy, Subhan Allah, there would be a fundamental change in the government apparatus. And it should, it starts from Jakarta. MNH

Masjid Jami Kebon Jeruk which located in Hayam Wuruk street, West Jakarta was built by a [I] Muhajir [/ I] from China named Chau Tsien Hwu in 1786.

Previously, on this place has stood a musala. When Chau Tsien Hwu came, he found the mosque in a state of disrepair and unkempt. Together with his fellow muhajirin, he took the initiative to build a mosque which until now is still standing strong in original shape as when established.

Masjid Jami Kebon Jeruk is just a simple little mosque even with almost no ornaments. But this mosque became famous because this is the home base of Tablighi Jama'at Indonesia.
