The Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said: “There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes Du’ain it, his Du’a will definitely be accepted. ”

MAXIMISE your rewards this RAMADAN – The SUNNAH the BETTER!
1. Wake up for Suhoor
2. Read 20 pages of Quran per day and you will complete it
3. Break your fast on an odd number of dates and if no dates available then break it on water
4. Learn and say the Dua prior to breaking your fast
5. Pray Taraaweeh /night prayers
6. Fast from all types of evil speech – lying, gossip, slander, backbiting, etc.
7. Be generous. Feed the poor and needy
8. Contribute towards breaking other people’s fast and receive their reward without any of their reward being reduced
9. Pray ‘Ishaa’ with the Imam until he has completed the entire prayer including Taraweeh and witr and it will be recorded for you as if you spent the entire night in prayer
10. Make lots of Dua and ask Allah to bless you with His bounties in this life and the next
11. Perform ‘Umrah if you have the ability to do so and you will receive the reward of having performed Hajj with the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam)
12. Get into the habit of praying the 12 Sunnah prayers associated with the 5 daily prayers and a mansion will await you in Jannah (2 before Fajr, 4 before Dhuhr, 2 after Dhuhr, 2 after Maghrib and 2 after ‘Ishaa’)
13. ‘Itikaaf - Devout yourself to the mosque during the last 10 days of Ramadan
14. Stay up engaging in various acts of worship during the evenings of the odd days of the last 10 days of Ramadan seeking out Laylatul Qadr which offers the reward of 1000 years of worship (83.3 years)
15. Pay Zakat/Sadaqatul Fitr towards the end of Ramadan and before the Eid prayer
I ask Allah to grant me and you the ability to do all this and more during Ramadan 1435/2014.

Ramadan Reminders: Day Three

If the people knew what great blessings were in the call to Prayer and in the first row, the people would compete with one another to call the Adhaan and to be in the first row, and if they found no way to decide who would be allowed to make the call to Prayer or to be in the first row except by drawing lots, then they would draw lots.

By Allah, we can only ponder upon the rewards of praying in the first row of a congregation. May Allah help us all gain a habit of praying in the first saff.-

Ramadan Reminders: Day Four

This is an issue that needs to be addressed strictly yet sometimes it is taken very lightly.

Yes, our Salah is important but it doesn’t give us the right to block other cars, gateways, roads, exits for Taraweh, Jumuah, Eid etc. -We never know what emergency may arise and it may be our vehicle that is blocking the access of the first responders.-

This will give you a whole different feeling. Having your heart attached to the Masjid eventually leads to saving yourselves from falling into unworthy desires and actions.

Going early will help you distance yourselves from your mundane surroundings to a place where you can remember Allah and make a lot of Dhikr. Pray Tahiya-tul-masjid as you enter. Make abundant Dua/seek forgiveness and of course, catch the first saff and not the wall to rest your back on it. -

The above should be the ideal characteristics of a Muslim in Ramadan.

We dress up in our best attire at work to impress our boss & coworkers. We make sure our swag is on point when we are at the mall chilling with our friends.

But when it comes Allah, the Boss of all bosses & the Closest of all friends, unfortunately our hygiene and appearance take a back seat. Let’s fix it.
