    One of the beauties of Islam.

    The preponderant position according to the vast majority of the scholars (al-rajih `inda al-jumhur) is that in our Religion “the default in things is permissibility” (al-aslu fil-ashya’ al-ibaha) until proven haram.

    Just to clarify this is only to do with worldly matters. In cases of worship the ruling is the opposite i.e. all forms of worship are forbidden except for that which is found in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
