Nowadays many people generally only meet family members on the occasion of a death or a wedding in the family. While it may not be possible to travel and meet family members who live long distances away from us, we can occasionally give them a phone call just to greet them and find out as to how they are keeping.
We will be surprised as to what du‘aas and supplications a simple phone call can earn for ourselves. Perhaps an old aunt is sick or bedridden and feeling very low. We tend to forget that our progress and achievements are very often due to the du‘aas of those around us. At times we focus on the big things in life, forgetting that even the little things really do count.
