My question is how to deal with wanting something so badly that it pains your heart thinking of the possibility that you will never obtain it.
For the past 3 years I have been trying to achieve a spot in medical school. I have dreamt of becoming a doctor my whole entire life that it has quite literally become my personality, my desire, my focus.
When i first got rejected i physically felt my heart shatter into minuscule pieces...my days darkened, my heart hardened, my appetite vanished and I had no purpose in living.
I prayed and prayed.
I cried my eyes to Allah.
I begged and begged.
I went to masjid and gave charity.
I helped the poor and the sick.
I have never asked for anything, never wanted anything more in my entire life than this.
When I got rejected the second time, I couldn't believe it.
I cried so much, i was so hurt.
i am walking in to my third and last year of trying.
I don't think i can mentally deal with another rejection, i am already crying writing this because i want this so badly...so badly.
I have straight As and hours of work experience...i don't know why this is happening ?
I don't know how to stop wanting this...
Just wanted to pop back here to share that I GOT INTO MEDICAL SCHOOL Alhamdulliah !!!
Well Done Sister! Congratulations.

Let this be a lesson to those people who have the opinion that making dua is useless because Allah hears what He wills.
Allah is in the way you believe that He is...So if you think that dua is useless, then your dua will be useless.
Here is a perfect example where it has helped to be determined, to fight for your dreams, to make dua and whatever more it takes to achieve your goal.
I am so pleased for you. This is just the beginning of your journey; and you will have many more struggles ahead. But you have shown your trust in Allah and followed your calling with resilience and perseverance.
May Allah bless you on your journey,
Eric
You will never look into the eyes of anyone who does not matter to God.
Just to let you know that the biggest personalities in history of world had been rejected too. Albert Einstein was rejected and we all know who he was in scientific sense.
My, all, wishes came true, alhamdulillah, but they didn't come true at time I wanted them. Allah surprised me in better way. I could say that it's probably about the time. Or, maybe you're applying to wrong institutions, where you'd not be satisfied and Allah especially.
OMG, I just SAW that you enrolled to medical school! Congratulations and Alhamdulillah! May Allah bless your studies and make you among the best names in medicine

I like the story of Michael Jordan. He was often trusted to take the final shot that would either win or loose the game. About thirty times he lost the game for his team. If he had quit after missing a thousand shots, he would have ended his career as an average player. He had to go on and miss another eight thousand shots before he was regarded as the best basketball player in his day.

Steve Jobs too, he also had interesting story. He was fired from Microsoft and as far as I know he was also rejected everywhere...
Nikola Tesla had problems, too. Only greatest names of history went through these problems. And I hope our sister is one of them (great name of medicine)
