According to scholar's sound opinion, it is haram to acquire objects that have images of animate beings and are not treated disrespectfully. This includes wallets, pencils, etc.
Objects that are treated disrespectfully counts carpets that you step on and such. In this case it isn't haram.
But to be on the safe side, avoid buying any stuff with pictures of animate beings as much as you can.
